It wasn't in the history books when I was in school...I lived while it was going on..danced and played ping pong with the service men at the USOs

Saved sugar ration stamps so we could make candy at Easter..

.bought war stamps..10cents each..one a week ;till I had enough to buy a war bond

had a Victory garden
saved foil from gum wrappers..saved tin cans.. saved newspapers

left dot dot dot dash with a big V when I mowed the lawn,

Rode troop trains to Chicago sitting on my suitcase in the aisle

and on and on...

I did take the time to remember and in my heart I had a visit with my own relations that were there or directly affected. Thank a WWII vet today if you see one. They knew severe times and severe sacrifices so that we may not.

December 7th, 1941 was a sad day for America. We studied about it in our Americanhistory class. I will always remember what this day stands for.

you bet...I always make it a point to thank all of our veterans...without them we would not have the luxury of living the life we have today....and God bless all of our men and women of our armed forces all over the world...may they all make it safely back home one day...
