Ohhh yes.
And even if you try to say something..they just talk right over you like..
It's hard for me to tune them out..because I try to respect people and listen to them when they talk..
But boy does that come back to hurt me when I end up with one of those non stop talkers....I believe I will start learning to tune them out...before I go nuts and punch them out!

Yes I have a brother like that and as he doesn't listen for the answer to his questions, I totally tune out.
He will start talking at the doorway and then wander all around the house well out of earshot, and wonders why I can't hear him.

Sometimes I can tune them out, but other times I just want someone to smack them in the head and shut them up!

My mother-in-law is a lovely woman who does talk continuously. She is the eldest of five sisters and ALL of them like to take center stage and talk continuously. For them it is part of their family's culture, to talk and talk and talk.
They are doing what they were "rewarded" for doing then they were children: Talk. And now as adults they can not understand why anyone would not want them to talk?!
With my work as a spiritual director I have found that some people who talk continuously aren't doing it to be annoying; they truly beleive they have something significant to say and others will benefit from their wisdom. They beleive they are presenting you with a gift.
Others are people who have such wounded spirits that continuously talking helps them realize they are not invisible. They speak out of fear of silence. They are hungry for human connection.

Yeah, it can be quite annoying but, I've learned to tune it out, most times. Then, there are times that I will let the person know to shush.

It bothers me. I have one in the family. You can't tune her out. She is bound and determined to annoy everyone. If you get loud she gets louder. Actually she ruins every get together or party. I'm serious.

I find it hard to tune people out, but my friend can do it amazingly. Like when we were watching a film one time i was talking to my other friend, and we turned to her and goes "CAN YOU HEAR USSS?!" After like 10 mins of shouting, she realised and laughed about it. But i'm hopeless. My parents always argue whilst im watching TV and i'm like "Arghhhh" and miss it =[
