I was in a shopping centre today and noticed a perfume endorsed by and named after that daft bint from Sex In The City - Sarah Jessica Parker. It got me thinking what kind of person would seriously be influenced by the fact that her name is connected to it and try the damn stuff in reaction. True I noticed it but it would actually stop me buying it for my wife as I'd be damned if I was going to pay the extra money on the product that is there, to cover her fee. We see celebrities endorsing cars on billboards, banking services backed up football players, telephones endorsed by sports people and so on. Why one earth do they pay these people money to do that? Surely there can not be a single person on the planet who choses to consider one brand of something because J Lo or some other waste of space sticks their name to it? Has this celebrity culture we live in truly gotten so bad that it does make a difference to some?

Come on people please get some decent answers. The only one with any imagination of the first 5 is the one who says SJP is a moose - quite right too. The question isn't why do they do it, I know it is beacause they get paid but do any consumers get taken in by it.

Aiofie or however you call yourself - do you even know what the origin of the word bint is? Be honest and answer before you trot off try and find it on the internet. No did not think so. Glad you did not answer as you could not have added anything from the real world as you must have your head up your own back passage. Bint.

I was going to read and answer your question until I got to the word Bint. Now I can't be bothered to read a question from a pig who thinks it's acceptable to call a woman a bint.

Unfortunately, its a sad reflection of life, that there are sad individuals out there who will buy products because some no hoper celeb says that they use it.

Like you, it actually puts me off buying a product. However, I think we're probably in the minority.

The companies concerned wouldn't lay out the extra cash if it didn't work.

The real question is, what drives this Celeb Culture that we live in? Is it the corporations, the ad agencies, or is it just the stupidity of the people that are gullible enough to fall for it? I suspect the latter. The corporations are just taking advantage.

As I said..........Its a sad reflection of life.

The advertising blitz at this time of the year.Companies pay a celeb to "endorse" a product (for at least a 4 figure check). So the company sticks a name to it and the giddy public thinks this is what the celeb wears and they blow their money on the same thing that is sold everyday without the celebs name.
Waste of money and of time, but most of America is wasteful.
