Everybody can work hard and make good choices. Why is it that people who work their b.... off all their life and take on risks and help their friends and family members are now demonized? Is it now a crime to be successful?

The bad thing about being a millionaire is there is always somebody who wants to take it away from you.
I have a net worth well over a million dollars and I have to pay an accounting firm thousands of dollars a year to protect my money from the government.
And there is always somebody with their hand out demanding I give them money because they are poor. I offer them a job so they can earn the money they need and they complain it will interfere with whatever government program they are currently on.
I am a self made millionaire. I started out poor. My father died when I was 5 and my mom supported her four kids with help from her parents and a job as a waitress. No welfare, no government handouts. Today I support my wife and kids, my mom and my widowed sister. I put my 3 kids thru college and 2 of my sisters. I am 50 years old and still work every day and my wife, who is 49, works a full time and a part time job. If we can do it anyone can.

I personally like millionaires and would like to be one someday. I know a number of millionaires that you wouldnt guess had more than a working class income based on how they live and act.
The only millionaires or billionaires that I have a problem with are the ones who always criticize the government for not helping the poor, claim we should pay more taxes and so forth but yet give relatively low amounts of their own income to charities that actually help the poor in America. I exagerate and say they should surrender all income above $60/K YR to charities that help the poor and should live in 1600 sq/ft homes but seriously, if you make $10 million a year and are going to yell that the country doesnt care about the poor and that the rich should do their share and you aren't giving $5million of that to charities that help the poor, I really dont think you have room to talk. So in short, if you are rich and think everyone else should pay to support the "poor" then put your money where your mouth is, stop living the lavish and decadent lifestyles that you live and give, give, give.

Other than those types, I love rich people

Jealousy and envy are, unfortunately a huge part of humankind.

Unfortunately its gotten even worse over the last couple of centuries. With the invention of such things as Socialism and Communism and the way that those philosophies have spread into various institutions, people have developed even stronger envy.
Those philosophic/political movements have given people an excuse to hate those that have money, no matter how they got it.

There is nothing wrong with millionaires. They should just pay their fair share of taxes. Most extremely rich make much of their income from investments where the tax rate is 15%. Workers pay 20-28%. Why should you pay more if you work for your money.

Also EVERY study on economic mobility shows the US is the hardest industrialized country to move from poor to rich in. We need to think about why that has changed in recent history. Is it because we now believe the rich should keep their money while the middle class is taxed to death?

Many people are jealous of rich people.
Liberals(democrats/socialists/communists) want to "penalize" them for doing better than they could do.
