Stay away from it.
I was once bitten, pecked doesn't quite seem right when theh damned thing had my whole hand in it's beak, by one.
It hurt like hell for days

I would feed it or try to pet it. Actually I would take a picture, cause if a pelican was in my backyard where I am located, it would probably get on the news or something!!!

Paint a torpedo to look like a fish and start the propellor and send it down the street. If cartoons have taught me anything, its that pelicans will chase torpedos that are painted like a fish.

Don't worry - pelicans can't laugh at what they see, or go tell others.
Your secret's safe with him!

smile and feed him some fish! We have one that follows us around all the time. He knows we always have some shad for fishing and that is what he is wanting. He is so use to us know that we can hand feed him. We of course had to name him so we let our son have that privilege. We now call him George! He has been with us for three years now!!

I think you should try to communicate with it by playing drums on the table with your pencil.

Ask him in for tea. He's probably cold out there and thinks you're rude for not inviting him in, that's why he's staring at you.
