I am a huge Ohio State fan but I have to tell you, I respect the fact that Hawaii is undeafed. I believe they should be playing for the National Championship. The trouble with their strength of schedule is simply the distance. Do you really think a Florida, LSU, or even an Ohio State would want to travel 10 hours to play a football game? Come on. As for strength of schedule, are you serious? What determines that anyway? The press mostly with preseason rankings that aren't always accurate. All I can say to you is Boise State 2007 Fiesta Bowl. Need I say more? Everyone thought they didn't belong their either. I say if you win all your games you should at least get a chance. In the event of a tie, then sure go to the strength of schedule. I predict that Hawaii will embarass the Dawgs.... Then what will we say about the BCS? hmmm Didn't everyone think that WV was going to massacre Pitt? Or how about Appalachian St beating Mich? Come on let them play for a title.

I can see why you would prefer to play Hawaii instead of LSU. That would just be another cupcake team for Ohio State to add to their resume. Instead you got LSU. Deal with it. Oh, Georgia will expose Hawaii for what they really are.

I agree with everything. If you went undefeated you should have a shot. Now saying that, I believe a playoff needs to be implemented.
Hawaii is a very good team. I think they will surprise the Dawgs. Heck, after they got their act together and shook off the butterflies from playing in their last game to go undefeated and to a BCS bowl, they outscored UW 28-7 from the 2 Qtr on out. And UW gave USC some trouble this year. 27-24, I believe with Looker overthrowing twice for people in the end zone.
Hawaii deserves a shot and they will show the world why next month.
One more thing I would like to add is that UW beat California who beat Tennessee who coincidentally beat Georgia and only lost to LSU by 7. California also lost to Stanford who beat who...#6 USC. That doesn't mean that Hawaii deserves to be number one or that they can beat all of those teams that I named, but people should realize that when they talk about strength of schedule. They should come up with a "six degrees" category too. That's just my opinion.

I am seeing a lot of Ohio State fans wanting Hawaii in the National Championship game. Could this be because they know they would beat Hawaii and are not so sure about meeting another SEC school? Either way the teams are already announced so why bother arguing things that won't change? Think the BCS is going to look at Yahoo Answers and say "Wait, these bloggers really want Hawaii in the NC game, call a press conf. and change the match up"? I do not think so. Good luck to all your fav. teams in their bowl games.

Are you serious??? I like Hawaii and happy they are doing well, but they need to work on their non conference schedule and actually play someone. This team is going to be pounded and that due to they are playing an elite conference opponent in the SEC and Georgia is a team that should be in the Championship as in BCS Championship not LSU. If Hawaii can actually pull this off it would be huge for this conference as it would be the second time in two years they have pulled off monster wins over big time programs. Boise St isnt the same team as last year, actually no where close so Hawaii beating them isnt that huge of an accomplishment.
SO Georgia 56 Hawaii 17 and the Freshman back for Georgia you will know his name real well and you may look it up because I will promise you right now Hawaii is sweating bullets over this kid and will know him and the back of his jersey as he runs by them for 3-4 TDS and a couple of big yardage runs. Just a hint the kid from New Jersey as in Moreno.
TD Bulldogs, get use to that phrase and in your sleep.

I'm ok with That. Let Ohio State drop out then LSU will play Hawaii in the big game. Do you still want Hawaii playing for the national championship.

For your logic you are using events that happen once or twice in a lifetime. Boise State was a decent team maybe deserving of more but a team that comes out of the woodwork doesnt "deserve" a shot at anything. App State? are you serious? that situation happened one time in the history of college football so lets change the guidelines. Hawaii plays a butt load of inept teams which allows them to be undefeated. Putting more capable teams on their schedule would certainly challenge their possibilities of an undefeated season. So until that happens, lets not hand them a championship bid. If they were as good as their records and stats show dont you think we would see more of their players entering the NFL as we do a Florida Ohio State Michigan etc.?

I agree with your prediction. I've been calling Hawaii 42 Georgia 17 since the Sugar Bowl matchup was announced. Hawaii, in my opinion, is the best team in college football and it's a shame that they're so underrated.

Money comes to mind. I'd rather watch OSU and LSU. If Hawaii were to make it to the big dance, they'll have you and the student body watching the game.
I don't make the news, I only report it.
