Since they are so confident that the Pats will win against the Steelers, why are they getting so upset about the mere mention of the Steelers pulling off the upset on Sunday?
If my team was 12-0, I wouldn't care what other teams fans had to say, and I certainly wouldn't get enraged about it, like most of you do on here.
So what if you drop one game this year? Is 15-1 so bad?
So what if you lose to the Steelers. The Pats are still in the playoffs, and that's all that counts, is it not?
Some of you act as though your entire team is going to go down in a big ball of fire if they lose one single game this season.
Oh, and by the way....come playoff time, EVERY team is 0-0.

I see that some of the Pats fans have proven me right.
foggy_id, it will be the PATS that are begging for mercy against the #1 defense in the league. I have every confidence in the world that the Steelers will win. Good job in letting the Ravens score so many points last week, when they only average 7 points a game. LMAO!

5 RINGS * NO CHEATING
With that said the reason pats fans get mad is because they are bandwagoners. They arent true fans because there were no Pats fans in the 90's when they were a joke. Everyone knows that but now they all crawled out of the woodwork to be arrogant. They have a bunch of old players and when they stink again soon they will all dissapear like the cockroaches they are!

Where do I start!!!
I will not be upset if they don't win on sunday. However let's change this question around what would the big deal be if the Steeler lose to the Pat's on Sunday!!
The enragement doesn't come from a possible upset it has more to the with the stupidity in some of the questions.
No it's not all that counts if the Pat's are in the play offs clinching home field advantage would be a nice added bonus.
As for come play off time WRONG it's a one round elimination. the Win take it. But if every team was actually 0-0 Their wouldn't be a first, second, third, fourth, fifth or six seed. And the First two seeds wouldn't get a by and there would be no home field advantage. So how one plays during the year does figure big time when it comes into play off advantages.

I dont care if the Patriots dont go undefeated, I really dont. I just think the Steelers fans are cocky, and they are. Face it, they may think they're a better team than the Eagles, but if they Eagles schedule this year Pitt would probably be 2-8 or 3-9. Pittsburg has only played 2 teams over 500 all season, and those teams are the Seahawks and Browns, not good team. New England shouldn't have any trouble with Pittsburg, anything can happen on any given sunday but the Steelers aren't very good.

Oh, and by the way....come playoff time, EVERY team is 0-0.
>>
And after the playoffs the steelers will be lucky to finish 1-1, they probably will get through the wild card weekend, but Indy or New England would destroy the steelers in the playoffs.

The problem in my view is not really the Steelers or the Steelers fans or any of that. The root of the problem is the amount of venom on this site.
Don't believe me? Just search on the string "Patriots hate". I just did and got 511 topics. Or "patriots suck". 163 of those. This is a daily, if not hourly thing. And generally these folks contribute nothing to the discussion but their hate and ignorance. There is the occasional useful comment, but for the most part nothing new. Just a bunch of yahoos standing up to profess their hate. Combine that with the lack of accountability of internet postings (I believe many of these people would never state this face to face), and you have a firestorm.
I think at this point Pats fans are just sensitve to ANY negativity, because there's so much of it.
Does this make Pats fans better? I'll let you decide. But until we get the haters off this site, it's not going to change.
edit: Foggy Id brings up a good point as well; how often do we see these haters wishing for players to get injured? It's a GAME.

Because it's simply not going to happen, but it might in the postseason when they take more time to develop a gameplan, but they need a QB too, I don't think Big Ben is going to get it done.
Come playoff time, every team may be 0-0 going into the playoffs, but a team that wins 13+ (or 16) games is not going to have a problem with a team that wins 9 and barely makes it into the playoffs, so that's not exactly true.
I'd think Miami fans would be hostile, but Miami has fans left?
At least Steelers fans have some faith in their team.

Who really cares what Anthony smith has to say. As Brady said in an interview when asked - Don't tell me, show me.
I am glad that you said "some" Pats fans because not all are like that. But every team has their share of fanatics.
By the way, IF the Pats were to lose this week - and I don't think they will - the fans here would still love the Pats.
Thanks for the additional details - now it makes sense - you were trying to bash the Pats Fans because you are a steelers fan - my condolences.

Not all steeler's fans are cocky. My dad is a steelers fan and our whole family hopes the steelers win but if the patriots win good for them. All i know is that i hope the best team wins. I don't care cuz I'm a Carolina Panthers fan, my mom's a dolphins fan, and my brother is a Bengals fan. I still love my team and always their not the best but they do their best. they always will. They just aren't as good as some of the others. For the record, patriot fans are cocky too.

I am a huge Pats fan and it would just be nice to kick the Steelers butt because they had to run their mouths. I really don't care about them going 16-0 because it doesn't really matter. What matters is the Super Bowl. The Patriots know that and the true fans know that as well. I hate to see my team lose so that is why I always want them to win. I think the media blows this up way too much! Go Patriots!!

I was wondering whats the deal with *insert name of team Pat's are playing this week.*
The constant stream of Pats cheat, Pats run up the score, Pats suck, Pats will lose to us next time because we'll be able to make up a 21 point difference somehow gets old.
It is human nature to fight or flight, and on an online format there is no chance for flight because there is no reprecussions to be had. All it takes is one idiot from either side to say something and everybody feels the need to contribute. It is by far not limited to Pats fans.
Personally I agree that the Super Bowl is the only real goal. Everything leading up to it is forgotten once you get there.

who said we were gonna lose to the steelers? your funny. but like i said a while ago, if we lose one game, who cares? we still have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. and i'd rather suffer a loss now and get it out of the way than a loss in the playoffs. that would be the worse since the lakers had 4 future hall of famers and didn't win the championship

Really. For being 12 - 0, they are an unhappy bunch. You'd think the Miami Dolphins fans are the ones who would be hostile.
I guess it's just an excuse for them to brag and claim how the Patriots are "unbeatable" because they have better statistics and blah blah blah...
Apparently, they've never heard of an "upset." Maybe they don't realize that even if New England is the better team, the better team doesn't always win. Otherwise, there'd be an undefeated team every season, wouldn't there?
* And I get thumbs down for saying the better team doesn't always win.
