Why do Bono and others think we are so stupid they need to write songs to educate us all?

Most celebrities are hypocrites who try to cover their hypocrisies/guilty concsciences with a bullshit social conscience.

One of you guys mentioned John Lennon...he's as good of an example as any. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy's music; he was a ******' brilliant songwriter, but it's damn easy to sit in bed for a week, saying "Give Peace A Chance" when you're smacked out of your brains on heroin, which he was at the time. He wrote some great love songs for Yoko, at the same time as he was beating the hell out of her and cheating on her to boot! This is the guy who wrote "Imagine"...I ******' hate that song, 'cos I know, coming from John Lennon, it's a bunch of bullshit. That boy had a lot of issues...bottom line, he was not a nice guy, and one of the biggest celebrity hypocrites I can think of.

Bono...sure he's this big environmentalist, etc, but what's he like at home with the wife and kids? What's he REALLY like with the other guys in U2? Probably an arrogant, egotistical prick, like most artists are. It's all image, folks...these people are human just like the rest of us...they're no more expert about what's right and/or wrong in the world than any of US are.

Bob Dylan...after fourty odd years they still talk about him being "The Spokesman Of A Generation"...he's admitted many times that he wrote 'protest songs' just to get famous and make a buck. Once he did, then he started doing his own thing. One of the great artistic con-jobs of all time...still like his music, though.

As Denis Leary said, "Yeah...Don Henley's gonna tell me how to vote...I got two words for you, Don: Joe ******' Walsh!"

Most celeberties think since they are in the public eye they are voices of the people.
Most have good causes they are for and a lot are touched by the cause they are for.
But the average educated man or woman in this country is well aware that there are charities and organizations that help most every cause that the celebs are pitching to us.
When the infomercials or the songs or the flyers come at me I ignore them as I can make up my own mind as to who I will help and in what way to help.
I realise there are starving and destitude in 3rd world lands but in every American town there are the same things going on,so do I help yes.
Am I influenced by a celeb,NO.

People ask them what they think. Bono cares about the world he lives in.

I think they use their status to pontificate about whatever their opinions are when in reality very few of us give a damn. Seriously, is there anyone out there who actually puts any credence into what a celebrity says???? Ei yi yi.
Most of them are dysfunctional, on drugs, going in or just getting out of rehab or going to court over something...no thank you!
