By the time I had reached the ripe old age of five and a half, my analytically-wired brain had already begun to poke serious holes into the Santa Claus legend. Needless to say, my entire family (my dad in particular) had refused to confirm my hunches – they were tenaciously sticking to their contradictory accounts and that was the end of the story, at least as far as they were concerned. So in an attempt to get to the bottom of that enigmatic impasse, I decided to “play a lil’ trick on ‘em”! :-)
I had reasoned that if Santa was “real” he would’ve already known what I really (and secretly) wanted for Christmas (i.e. a cool motorcycle-looking Tricycle) so I started to actively plant a couple of fake Christmas wishes (i.e. a big metal Fire Truck and a Batman Costume) in everyone’s mind, hoping to prove to them (and myself) that there was no Santa Claus. Came Christmas day and my turn to unwrap the gifts, and of course what do I get, yes you guessed it, the metal Fire Truck and the Batman Costume; surprise, surprise! But before I had a chance to make my “gotcha” speech, my dad said: “Hey look, there is a card from Santa addressed specifically to ” and started reading it: “Dear , the Fire Truck and the Batman Costume are from the elves, since you kept asking for them so much, but your real Christmas gift, which Mrs. Claus and I handcrafted specially for you, was too big for me to get through the chimney, so I left it out on the front porch – hope you like it. [signed] Ho Ho Ho Santa!” So I made a mad dash for the front porch and lo and behold there it was – My Very Own Motorcycle-looking Tricycle; the object of my dreams (yes, those were my pre-UFO days - LOL)! …
That little “Claus-full” show of magic easily stretched my childhood days of innocence by at least a couple of more years. And frankly, to this day, I am not sure how “Santa” figured that one out, but ever since “The Tricycle Trick” I’ve leaned not to underestimate the all-knowing “Prince of Presents” – EVEN IF I THINK I KNOW BETTER! :-) … Happy holidays to one and all.

Singing Christmas carols around a piano, while grandma played, with friends and relatives when I was six years old on Christmas Eve. The Christmas tree was about to be decorated by us all with handmade ornaments we had brought over as per grandma's request. There was a roaring fire, marshmallow's and hot chocolate (grandpa passed a flask to the other men adding something to his) and at that moment, I thought I was in Christmas heaven!

When I was a child, my father’s job required a good bit of moving around. One year, we moved into a new house on Christmas Eve. Everything was in boxes… when I went to bed there was no tree, no lights, so sign of Christmas at all. The next morning, it had all appeared. The rest of our belongings were still in boxes, but there was a tree, stockings, garland, candles, a plate of cookies, lights everywhere…
My father’s boss (and good friend) knowing we had moved, had arrived late that evening with a tree, decorations, lights, and ten volunteers. And that, for me, is the mysterious Magic of Christmas… the willingness to give, to let the kindness in our hearts shine out.

When my parents & sister were ill on Christmas day. I made Christmas dinner - toast & a cuppa. (I was about 9). Watched James Bond on telly in the afternoon, but had all day to play with my presents without being interrupted, by going to church or parents friends dropping in.
Merry Christmas all

My brother was 16 and really, really, really wanted a car. On Christmas we were opening our gifts, and he got this one in his pile from my dad. It was a small long box and when u shook it it made a sound like keys. He was smiling really smug and opened it like the king of the world singing I got a car, I got a car. When he opened the box and shook the contents out onto his hand, however, what came out was a toy boat the made a sound. We laughed so hard :D. Next Christmas my dad recived a mysterious package, with no name. ;)

When I always used to go to a place up the road from where I lived when I was little, to a grotto to see Santa, and see the reindeers and all the Christmas decorations.

When i was a child, i had a dream on Christmas eve that Christmas was just something i had dreamed and wasn't real. When i woke up, i had kicked presents off my bed in my sleep and was very upset because it made me believe the dream. Then my mother came in and told me it was all real.
