Isn't it obvious that the people who really want a gun are the very people that shouldn't be allowed to have one?
Maybe then we will stop seeing the crazy gun attacks in schools and shopping malls.

only criminals will have guns? Not the police then?
The criminals have guns. The large amount of guns out there makes it easy for them to get guns illegally. It makes gun crime easier and more common.
For goodness sake WAKE UP and look at your country the way others see it.
If you get a kick from having a gun you should not be allowed to have one. In britain you hardly ever hear of burglers with guns, but you would if we had American gun laws.
If some guy breaks into your house to steal your stuff, let him take it,or try going for your gun and see what he does.

Are you the American minister for foreign affairs?

I love the "mind your own business" jibe. That's rich coming from an American.
If you can't see that having a proliferation of guns in your community will lead to more gun crime then you are as blind and unreasoning as your reputation suggests.

I doubt if America will ever change it's gun laws.
This country was founded on violence, and for some strange reason it feels that it's okay to have weapons that can destroy the lives of others........it's an American right! So they claim..........and all the Crazies can have one to shoot up schools and malls and innocent people.
Go figure!

Well, in most of the country we are working toward having "sane" gun control laws ... just not the ones you support! Seriously, did you think this situation through at all? I love your statement "gun crimes aren't coming from the so called criminals", really ... then just who are they coming from? You are all for allowing "responsible people" to own guns. Great! So am I. Problem, the irresponsible people of society don't often ask for the government's permission before purchasing a gun. Case in point ... New York State (and even more so New York City). Gun control laws that make qualifying for a permit a long, expensive process with absolutely no guarantee of success. The area is a "market state" for illegal arms trade. Why? Lots of willing customers! Both the otherwise law abiding citizen and the criminal buy from the same sources ... unlicensed dealers! No permit required, no waiting period, no background check, cash and carry. We already did crack down on who legal dealers can sell to, maybe it's time we tried something that might work.

yes they realized along time ago that the laws are wrong and dangerous but with 83% of the population owning a firearm there is no quick way to get them off the streets
if they were to make it illegal to own a gun then they would put every law abiding citizen at risk as the only ones who wouldnt hand in there guns is the crinimals you raise a great question welldone

One thing to consider about America is that the right to bear arms is in their Constitution as is the responsibility of citizens to rise up against an oppressive government.
It might sound crazy but its roots lie in the revolutionary history of the US. The gun control debate will never be resolved until this simple fact is considered in the discussion.

I totally agree. There should be a lot less of them so the ones that count could actually be enforced.
I really want my guns, and it's been quite a while since I last went and shot a bunch of people at school or the mall.

The actual concern of the rest of the world is to know that they'll never be able to know for sure from where the bullets are going to shower on any of you if you ever dare to try to take us down.
Weapons don't kill people, people kill people using weapons.....mind your own business!

When will Europeans realize that their gun laws leaves them open to tyranny?
As for random shootings, there is evidence that incidences like the columbine High school shooting were inside jobs with far more shooters than just the alleged students in the official account(the students themselves acting like "MKUltra" 'Manchurian Candidate' psy-op programmed killers) -- many of them blackwater-type appearing mercenaries. an obvious ruse to disarm America.
The US would have been under martial law along time ago if it wasn't for the second amendment - not long after 9/11- do you think that NWO run Britain would be far behind ( or the EU under Nicolas " spied for mossad" Sarkozy) ? as surely as 7/7 followed 9/11!

Sadly I don't think that will ever happen.
It seems that the "If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will carry guns" mentality has stuck.
The country is so saturated with firearms that it would be virtually impossible to disarm everyone. They just can't see that when it comes to spree killers, most of these people were non-criminal types who snapped and had access to firearms. Less firearms - Less opportunity for these sorts of sprees.
