Since America is a SECULAR nation, and not a Christian Nation, why do people think a Jesus Freak Pastor is qualified to run the country?

The United States was actually founded as "One Nation Under God" by the forefathers. The fact that he believes and puts his faith in God is a huge qualification.

If you want to seperate church and state then he meets the qualifications like the others. "No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States."

What makes you think he's a Jesus Freak? The fact he was a pastor? He doesn't put Rev. in front of his name like Rev. Jesse Jackson or Rev. Al Sharpton do. I doubt you refer to them as Jesus Freaks. If you did you would get called a racist because they are black. And does the fact they are Democrats figure into it?

As far as qualifications go. His credentials for governing are the same as Bill Clinton's. He comes from the same state as Bill, even from the same town.

Mike doesn't chase everything that's the opposite sex like Bill does. Democrats were enamored with Bill. Why don't they like Mike? In the south there is little difference between Republicans and Democrats. In the south most people are conservative in both parties.

So what's your real problem with Mike?

You can't be serious? You are aware that the requirements to run for president do not include a religious test? This is an insane question on so many levels... who among all these losers is qualified? My 14 year old is probably as qualified. And BTW, you need to read some history books...

I think your joking...i hope your joking. Christians formed this country, not atheists. That's why God is in everything that was built and used by the GOVERNMENT. The secular aspect has more to do with separation of Church and State. That and stopping such things as the old witch trials.

Any idiot that thinks mike pardoned a rapists clearly has been listening to liberal news. GOVERNORS CANNOT PAROLL CRIMINALS. ONLY A PAROLL BOARD CAN!

Get your facts straight before you go on lying to everyone!

EDIT: He has been an executive for over a decade for Arkansas. How is that less qualified then sitting in a chamber for a few years in Washington? You people are rediculous!

Other than religion, which Mitt Romney so elequantly explained at his speech yesterday as a factor which sould never define any candidate for President....

Huckabee was governor of Arkansas...JUST EXACTLY THE SAME JOB AS BILL CLINTON, and is why both ran for president....Ever read the newspaper or listen to Tv...other than MTV?

I don't know, but I doubt that the answer is his pardon of the serial rapist who went on to rape and kill two more victims.

I beg your pardon. You are right, a parole board...not a paroll...board must pardon a prisoner. While Governor, Huckabee exerted tremendous pressure on the rapist's parole board to do just that. He ignored the letters of victims of the rapist monster who warned him that the next time that this monster raped, he would kill the victim so that there would not be a witness. Huckabee ignored all of this and pushed to have the monster paroled. Huckabee succeeded in this. It is a matter of public record.

I love cons who cannot refute facts and so rely on poorly spelled rebuttals based upon technicalities and then end their posts with name calling. Kind of like school yard bullies. Legends in their own minds ROFLMAO

I think its cool he's got morals but he is a socialist, and I am not up for Baptist Socialist to be running a country. The only reason he is getting publicity at all is because the mainstream media is scared of Guliani and they would feel much better if Hilary was running against Huckabee :)

Please check out somebody like Ron Paul, a much better alternative for both dems and repubs www.ronpaul2008.com

Actually over 75% of the pop. claims to be Christian! Mike Huckabee has been gov. of arkansas for almost 10 years. Hillary has only been a senator for 8 and Obama less than that!

You can do better, vote for Ron Paul

No matter who is elected they all have their own faith....so what is the problem? You will never find a person who is Muslim, Jewish, Catholic, Atheist, Mormon...all rolled into one. Listen to the issues and don't be so judgmental. It seems that in the US it is getting to be if you are a Christian it is a bad thing......maybe the Taliban is winning the war.
