So speaks the voice of ignorance, and I don't mean that offensively, but you obviously don't understand what goes on "behind the scenes".
I think our country is still one of the greatest nations on earth. Would you rather live here, or Zimbabwe, for example?
Be grateful for the freedoms this country provides you with by right. By accident of birth, you could be living under tyranny.

Nope, I thought it was us laughing at the rest of the world to be honest, I know I was (and still am). The Sudanese government only let that teacher go because everyone was laughing at their stupid ideology.
I don't think millions of immigrants would want to come here if they thought we were a joke. They choose the UK over all those other EU countries and America.

I personally do not think England is a joke. I generally love living hear. There are problems. But if you start digging around in other countries politics you will soon see they have many problems like we have. Tax, law, crime etc. The grass always looks greener on the other side until you get there.

That's not the UK's fault - Gibbons just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time with some bad luck. I love the UK - far from seeing it as a joke, I see it still as one of the world's most distinguished places where academica and education excel. Where else could you find another Cambridge or Oxford? And don't cite Harvard to me!

Definately, the government have come up with some studid ideas, I wont mention any in particular but they try so hard to please some members of our community that they are disregarding our people in favour of the immigrants. Dont they realise that this country is too small to take the numbers coming in, and we certainly cant afford all the benefits that are paid out. GET THIS COUNTRY SORTED.

The Sudanese government only did that because they were attempting to take the international focus out of Dafur and into Khartoum.
It takes the limelight off their own atrocious behavior, even if it was only for 1 week.

No, I don't think the world worries about us that much. That's fine with me: we live in a stable (if apathetic) democracy & we are one of the richest 6 or 7 nations on the planet. So b*lls to what the rest of the world thinks: we're doing alright !

No, but with our current increase in PC-centricity, increasing corruption in the government, a lack of decent state education, a large benefits base and no control over immigration, we are certainly getting there.
