And why?

That's a common perception I think. There was a CNN special out of the US aired in the US and Canada (and probably internationally) that focused on Jihadists and would-be Jihadists in the UK last year. They interviewed a lot of people who openly admitted to hating Britain and were members of radical groups or at least had been approached by these groups. It showed lots of sad, crumbling inner-city slum council flats. It showed people being intolerant and making racial insults. It discussed the plans to build a mega mosque in London and all the resistance locals had to this idea. It portrayed many Muslims as being non-integrated and surviving on low-paid jobs and social assistance.
And of course the country is bursting at the seems with over 60 million people crammed in a space smaller than a fraction of the Province of Ontario in Canada.
It was very depressing.

As a Canadian I have hope for my country. Our immigrants become more integrated and enjoy opportunities and are, on average, better educated than people who are Canadian-born. We have radical groups in Canada I would imagine, but I don't think there is such deep-seated hatred here. Maybe I am wrong, but I feel Canada is a safer, gentler, cleaner place. And we have space. More space and land and trees and water and oil and resources than anyone could fathom in a lifetime. So, yes, I am glad my ancestors decided to leave the shores of Britain for a better life in Canada.

Saying all that I do have confidence that the British people will prevail. Just think of the Battle of Britain, WWII and so on. The British are survivors and I think they will manage to move on from this and Britain will manage to avert complete disaster, but I think it is a very tense and difficult time in the UK, and an effort will need to be made to set things in the right direction.

I am in my mid twenties and I have an extensive range of friends, NONE of which beleive this country is heading in the right direction. The government has destroyed this country since I was a kid, I had a great childhood living in the countryside, now I am living in a overpopulated horrid town because these middle class townies have bought second properties in the countryside! I would rather rent a tiny shack in the countryside than live in the shite towns full of chavs that Tony Blair has created for us! If I had any sense I would emmigrate to New Zealand.

No. Why should it be? We may be heading towards a recession, but that's hardly chaos. Britain hasn't been in chaos since the civil war.

Read "To Hell In A Handcart" by Richard Littlejohn (a novel) and I think you'll see why I think that Britain is already there. And getting worse.

For example:-

Tailbacks, binge drinking, drug taking and drug fuelled crime, gang wars, the proliferation of knife/gun carrying, happy slapping, selfishness, greed, inequality, punitive taxation, weak economy, incoherent immigration policy, illiteracy, innumeracy, oodles of imported NHS staff, overcrowding, building on the green belt, hacker/scammers, identity thieves, incompetent and complacent politicians, right wing extremists, religious extremists, animal rights extremists, overcrowding in prisons, insufficient discipline in schools, MRSA, bird 'flu, people having enough and emigrating in droves!

However most of these things can be 'solved' but it will get worse before it gets better. Order can come from chaos.

Probably.....because of things like uncontrolled immigration, the overwhelming amount of debt, house prices dropping, the situation in the USA, racial tension, Islamic extremist, Gordon Brown, MRSA, Bird Flu, Foot and Mouth, Blue Tongue, Poor Public Transport, lack of affordable housing.

I don't think - I know it's heading for chaos - why - High immigration, high taxation, failing schools, failing NHS, failing police and law, corrupt government, heading for recession - do I need to go on

yes most definately. not anarchy or anything quite so daft because our armies would take control of anything like that but civil unrest is almost guaranteed somewhere in the not too distant future.
there is only one reason for this and that is religion.
