I think that people, especially more so nowadays tend to be very cynical about trusting others so they are more apt, in my opinion to believe the negative or bad about someone they either do not know, or know little about before they believe the good.
For example, tabloids. How many people read tabloids. Even if you do not purchase them, do you read them while standing in line at the check-out counters? Tabloids would not be as popular as they are if people inherently did not believe or assume the worse about others. This is also what has made highschool and office gossip so popular. People don't want to hear the gossip about so and so being good, they want the JUICY DIRT.

As to the bad things that are committed, it depends if it was a serious.offense. Bad things stick out like a sore thumb especially if they were serious wrongs. If people are prone to look at the negative side and keep grudges then I would say they tend to remember even the smaller wrongs. On the other hand, if one were to be a forgiving person and see the good that another has done, they remember those deeds. So it comes down to who that person is and if they keep account of the injury or not. Don't all people do good and bad and offend each other. As for myself, I would hope that people see me for the good I do for them, even though it was a small word or deed, and remember me for it. I don't think I have any enemies but I have offended people at times.

This one is very simple.
They will believe the good things about you if you are able and willing to help them. If this isn't the case or when the help ends...they will believe anything that might even remotely be bad.
The reason why is simple too...if someone else is this that bad it makes them look better. Or to say it in the lyrics of a song:
High class positions are only conditions
Existing in small peoples minds
Most social climbers, are evil and cold
They seldom are loving or kind

I think people will remember you for the bad things you do and not the good things. Like for an example Aldof Hitler is only remembered for trying to take over the world, hes not remembered for helping a little old lady across the street.

Always the bad as it has a much stronger effect, if people hear something nice about someone they just knida brush it away but hearing something bad can touch a nerve so instantly they associate the bad thing with the person and hold it against them.

People tend to believe the most believable strories about others, if they are friends (true friends), they will pay no mind to rumors, it is more likely that a person that doesn't know you very well is willing to believe the very worst about you.
Pay no mind to those who believe the worst and spread rumors......for those who do are more insecure about their little secrets getting out.

Well...people are people...no matter what we do or how we do things, they want to believe only what they feel is right.
I say let them..in the end its my opinion that really matters anyway.

Definitely the bad things because people are more convinced and interested in other peoples troubles.

Human nature is to forget the good one has done, with even one bad act.
