My policy on footwear is the same as my policy on clothes.
Practical not fashionable.
I'm not a fashion slave. I will wear clothes that have no fashion labels (except trainers, as it's almost impossible to get a sturdy pair without labels). My casuals and best clothes are all Label-less and I will wear them until they fall apart.
My reason for this is that I don't see the point in forking out obscene ammounts of money for something with a fashionable name on it when I can buy an alternative that will last just as long, if not longer, for much less money. This leaves me more money to spend on important things.
I wear trainers or walking boots, not shoes. I don't like shoes in general. They're pointless items. Combat/walking boots are smart enough to wear with a suit.

I am very specific when it comes to my shoes & boots...They are what styles I like,no matter the latest trend, and cost isn't a priority either...They have to be well made for durablilty and comfort to do the job intended for them..I still own shoes from the 70's & 80's that are in great shape and styles do return in fashion whether ya want them to or not!lol...Guess I am picky when it comes to my shoes & boots!=)

A bit of both. I don't wear very high heels but I like to have fashionable shoes without making my feet too uncomfortable .

Both.
I'm a girl and I succumb to wearing ridiculously high heals that twist my ankles and give me foot problems in the name of fashion. But that's only when I'm out. The rest of the time I wear normal sensible shoes. You won't catch me on the underground wearing 6 inch heals.
