so my teacher says. if so can someone explain to me how this could be because i have know idea what my teacher is talking about.

Yes. In fact that's the case for the vast majority of people. (Some people are called middle-brained in that they seem to function almost equally well from both hemispheres).
Most right-handed people are left-brained and vice-versa (polarities are reversed). Mathematics, language and logic (the more rigid stuff) are typically left brain functions. While spatial understanding, the perception of time, arts and creativity are typically right-brain functions.
So if you write with your right hand, like most people, chances are you are more logically-oriented and more concrete in your thinking. However, about 15 percent of the population has reversed polarities, so that their right brain is the more logical part, while their left brain takes care of creativity. Which means such a person could be left-handed and still a highly-logical, concrete, practical type
