I am a big fan of Afridi but i can't even in dreams think of comparing him with the Cricket God.

People like Afridi, Dhoni, Symonds are great entertainers but damn, how can anyone compare
these players with Sachin, Lara, Ponting.

Sachin is in the elite group of top cricketers. A group which consists of Bradman, Sobers, Viv Richards, Gavaskar, Miandad, Lara , Ponting etc .

These people are far ahead of those Afridis and Dhonis and Symonds.

Afridid scores a fifty in one match & then in next 10 matches he gets out on scores like 0,1,3,5,0,2,6,8,0, etc.

Sachin, Lara, Ponting have been consistent performers.

Sachin has over 50 man of the match awards which proves how good a match winner he is.

I know that all cricket experts will not do this mistake of comparing the great one with a slog hitter.

Ewwww.. , kids irritate me when they do these sense less comparings

Lol, Sachin #1 and Afridi #2.
Ohh plzzz, Afridi is no where in top 50.

Sachin is admired by all cricket experts & greats. There is no comparison of Sachin and that other guy.

Yes, Sachin can be compared with Lara
Yes, he can be compared with Ponting
Yes, with Rahul
& Yousuf
& Kallis

But not with Sfridi, lol. That guy is nothing against good bowling

ha ha ha.
i had my fair share of laughter seeing that comparison monti.
i guess haneef just wants to justify his belief that his local hero is as good as the master blaster. the problem here is india's succes rate is lesser compared to tendulkars success rate. this creates a mirage in the minds of even the best of cricket lovers, tending to believe that guys like afridi whose success is lesser compared to the teams success are better match winners. the term match winner in cricket is absurd.
cricket is a team game, mate. you need match winner(S) for a succesful team. ex: aussies. sachin is a match winner in a team that lacks match winners.

Both are of great class. The both have earned respect for themselves. No matter they go out on a duck in 2 or 3 matches, but no one can give comparision to them.
Yes Sachin is more experienced and more talented than Shahid Afridi. But these both batsmen havea difference of just 1 point betweeen there performance.
If Sachin is 1st...than afridi is 2nd.
and that too second by just a small distance.

I just wanna say, theyre doing a great job for their respective countries.

I'm not one to defend Tendulkar but this clearly is a joke. Tendulkar is an all-time great certainly in ODIs while Afridi is a slogger plain and simple.

Working on averages Afridi scores a 21 ball 23 and Tendulkar a 51 ball 44. Can you really compare them.

That average of 23 in ODIs is lower than Sunil Dhaniram, Elton Chigumbura, Brad Haddin, Aftab Ahmed, Sandeep Patil, Shaun Pollock, Kapil Dev, Imran Nazir and Dwayne Bravo.

Against the best team of the era he averages 16 Tendulkar 45. Wasim Akram another slogger and a far better bowler averages 20 against the Aussies and even Vettori averages 18.

Afridi is the most overrated cricketer ever who's only goal seems to be to keep his strike rate above 100. Please can we have a fairer debates like Richards vs Tendulkar or Chigumbura v Afridi.

EDIT
I've looked hard but I can only find one match in the last two years (41 ODIs) that he 'won'. Could Haneef please tell us which matches he's won exactly.

When comaring Sachin and Shahid Afridi it mainly depends on which year u are talking about.
Over all Sachin is better than afridi in all respects. Sachin has played all types of innings from slow and steady blockin to hard hitting innings like that of Afridi (mainly in the 1996 to 2000). Comparing them wud be a "joke"

the rule for comparing something is that the both entities be same. well in this case they are not. sachin is all toghether a different class then afridi. sachin is all time great with great technique and a hell of a record in both forms of game. his class is reached by some of players. afridi on other hand is a different player. he is an entertainer and a better hitter than sachin. one thing which is better of afridi than sachin is his bowling.

Not a joke.......it shows people are out of their minds....Comparing Sachin with a player like Afridi just shows it.I mean you have Sachin who has been nothing less than God for Indian cricket........so consistent over the years and he's a class act.....I believe you are showing sachin disrespect if you compare him with Afridi...n not just young kids do it even others do.....and they are wrong in saying so...Sachin's a player of his own kind....nobody can ever match upto him.

One can compare afridi and sachin in fielding or bowling but not in batting..

afridi is better in bowling and fielding...

In batting it will be Kahan Rajabhoj aur kahan gangu Teli..

Sachin slogs to increase the runs on the score board..

Afridi slogs to get back to the dressing rome at the earliest.. erlier than FED EX.. HEHEHE... He has good talent but he has wasted his talent.. and his time is coming to an end.. he could have become a good leader but he spoilt his own future.. anyways .. i am getting of track.. actually i have soft corner for Afridi..

but sachin is at no 1 and afridi at 100..

I am the greatest fan of Rahul so I defiitely say that Rahul is even better than Sachin or anyone else playing the game, I do not think that big entertainers of the game can be compared with these greats because it turns out that most of the entertainers aren't good at test matches aginst superb bowling, the only thing that they know it to go Bang..Bang...Bang..........................

This not only a joke but also a useless question as sachin is the master blaster. It may be that afridi is a good hitter of the ball but style of sachin is a brilliance.

While i fully agree with you, I must mention that comparison of Sachin can be made only with Brian Lara and ponting at present.
