Its my sister 21st on the 9th of december , can anyone think of anything taht has happend on this date!,from any years?

Here's the best one I could find :
1979 - The eradication of the smallpox virus is certified, making smallpox the first and to date only human disease driven to extinction.
This was a VERY big deal in world history.
Smallpox contributed to the death of perhaps 90% of Native Americans in the Caribbean and central America after the Conquistadors arrived in the early 1500s.
It may have contributed to the weakening of Rome in the second century AD (the Antonine Plague).
It caused ~10% of all deaths in Europe during the 1700s.
Children have not had to be vaccinated in the time since your sister was born 21 years ago.
