I was accused by a copper of luring song birds to my garden (with bird food in hoppers) for my husband to shoot.
OK - he did get a Caution (preceded by 3 PC visits to the house, an hour-long interview at the Police Station with a solicitor paid for by the tax payer, another hour of me being harassed by said PC in front of all passersby in the street, and a visit by a Police Inspector) for shooting a wood pigeon which had been using my washing line as its flight path, then winging over the car (with obvious consequences to both).
Do we wonder why the Police have no time to bother with serious crime?
