There is nothing odd about it. Either they go or they don't. After the six successful landings up to 1972, those in power decided to cut the budget because they didn't believe that more was necessary.
Keep giving the thumbs-downs, guys. I hear that if you do it enough, then what you're saying actually comes true.

I don't really know whether or not we went to the moon or not, so my answer to the question, "why haven't we gone back?", may or may not be accurate.
Why haven't we revisited the moon?
1 There isn't anything on the moon that would be benificial or monetarily rewarding to us.
2 If we tried to use the moon as a space port , we would soon find our investment lost, as the moon is slowly getting farther and farther way from the earth.
"The moon is drifting slowly away from the Earth. If it is getting further away, then at one time it was much closer. The Inverse Square Law in physics states that if the moon was half the distance away, its gravitational effect on our tides would be quadrupled. One third the distance and it would be 9 times stronger. We would all drown twice a day. 1.2 billion (1,200 million) years ago, the moon would have been touching the Earth."
I hope this piqued your curiosity about the moon and might leave you looking for more answers. Have fun on your research in the future.

Yes we did. People talk about the different things about the video and stuff, while my thought is always, you couldn't have kept it hidden this long. Every astronomer/geologist/scientist would have had to been in on it. Think about it.
We haven't gone back because it's expensive and there's not much to do there. Sounds funny to say, but I'm serious. Is there anything to do on the moon that wasn't done before and that would be enough of a reason to launch a new mission that cost a lot of money?
And then of course when the Soviet Union collapsed the space race took a huge hit because for some reason we don't want to do it for pure scientific reasons, only when we're in a race with communists.

Yes we did, there is ample proof. The staff at Jodrel Bank tracked the lander in its decent to the surface of the moon, the graph shows a smooth decent to a point where the lander moved up slightly and was manoeuvred by Buzz Aldrin when he realized that the auto pilot was about to put them in a rock filled crater., he overrode the automatic controls and guided the lander to a smooth site.

We went to the moon but why would we go back. There is nothing there. It's just a huge floating ball in space. Yeah we have a few moon rocks, but there haven't been any major discoveries because of it. Also it's really expensive. A couple billion dollars to get a few rocks.
But we are planning to build a moon base or command center on the moon. It's in the planning stage and they are designing the logistics of it at NASA. They plan to go within the next 5 years, and this is not some crackpot thing that I made up. I saw it on the News. Look it up on google.

Yes, we did go to the moon several times. The reason we haven't gone back is right now there is no reason. We collected moon rocks, moon soil , core samples, etc. etc. etc.. So at the current time it would really be a waste of money. NASA is almost entireley focused on the International Space Station.

I think we went, but i'm with you, why haven't we gone back since! I find space fascinating and incredible that we don't devote even more money to it!
I don't know whether we went when we said we went, but i think we have definately been!
My mates all made fun of me the other day because i knew who the second person who stepped on the moon, i was horrified that none of them did!

We did go to the Moon. The proofs are those pictures and videos of the launches and landing of humans in the moon. And if that is not true,All of the engineers and NASA staffs will be affected.

"We haven't gone back since"? Wrong. The US succeeded with 5 more manned Moon landings.

I never had any reason to doubt that they did go to the moon until i saw a documentary about it. Now i think it was an elaborate hoax.
