From the contempt in your question I have a feeling you're from the UK. Ever since the times that the post is delivered got changed its been anarchy. On Wednesday the postman turned up at four o.clock - in the afternoon! Now hows that for taking liberties.

You should do the same until next day, same time, same place. Postman comes only once a day. It's better a little earlier than the disappointed to day.

It's about as pointless as me staying home to bite my postman 'cos my dog's not well.
