We only 'know' through our five senses but other than that, the brain is blind; encased in a calcium-rich tomb. How CAN we be sure?????
Oh come on, that's deep thinking for 3.14 am which is when I wrote the question this morning.

It has to be real, do you honestly think someone would imagine this mess? Is there really an entity that is as warped and twisted enough to fabricate this version of hell that we live in?

When I was back in college and a philosophy major, we spent several class periods on this question. How do we know the physical world exists at all? How do we know it is what we perceive it to be? How do we know it wasn't just created five minutes ago, complete with false memories?
The best answer we could come up with is that we don't actually know. But if you have seen the movie "The Matrix," you have a better understanding of this question than we could back in the early 1970s, while computers were very, very different things. Computer graphics had barely started, and other sensory inputs which make us believe it may someday be possible to create an entire synthetic world had barely been imagined by science fiction writers.
Does it really matter? If we live as if the world is real, and as if it is what we perceive it to be, our lives function with sufficient consistency that it doesn't really matter to me. Personally, I think it would be interesting to discover that I am "miles and miles of pretty files" as the Moody Blues put it years ago.

My religion says that we live our life on seven planes. This is the only one. we r living simultaneously on 7 planes and on each plane it is different. So which life can u call real and which not. In mythology anything is possible. This earth is only a tiny part of the universe. We don't know what is beyond our knowledge. We have yet to know peculiarities of the universe. Thee r many things that happen and we have no explanation for those happeny. If I narrate u, I've seen some events in dreams happening 2-3 days in advance. Once I saw in my dream one of relaive dead and her body was being taken out for last sites. It's o.k., u cn say what I expected happened. But I want to say, what I saw was repeat of the ecene.

Sometimes I am not sure the world is real at all, but as I'm typing this as an answer to your question then I know at least two of us are on the planet right now.

So you're only using 5 senses. If you have a 6th you can use it to confirm that your world ISN'T real and that this is all an illusion!

we can be sure, cause if is wasnt real why are so many people being killed and how can you get hurt so much by different things if this world wasnt real.
