Because there are a lot of people in this world who are even more retarded than Bush, believe it or not. Most of them are so dumb they would vote Republican if the Tellytubbies were in charge.....

I was even more unimpressed with his opponents. Even though I am a registered Democrat and have been since the day I turned 18 in 1984, I have always voted for the person I felt was better, quandry or not.

Not voting is far worse than voting "wrong". Wrong is not really a scenario...nobody coerced us and we voted as we felt we wanted to.

You may feel like countering that I should become a Republican but you would fail to see the point of joining a political party. I joined my party because I believe in it and that doesn't blow with the winds because of dissatisfaction. My duty is to participate and steer my party in the direction I think it should go and there are millions of others who will have a differing opinion or three. Together we will end up gradually shaping something in the way of change.

I don't feel the president is "mildly retarded", even if I don't like his style of leadership very much. After hearing him talk to his daughter on Ellen's show I know he's a loving father and an human being. He has some rather misguided ideas and he puts too much faith in his staff, cabinet and agencies that are a bit loopy sometimes and still they aren't a lot worse than during many other administrations. There is a lot of work to do.

I've heard a lot of this from people in other countries yet I'm not going to jump on the Jolly Green Jingoist bandwagon. In 13 months there will be a new president installed and not one that has done it before. Americans have been paying a lot of attention to the candidates and everybody knows there is so much at stake. Those that flood the Internet and Usenet groups with ranting and raving and are revealed to be foreigners who cannot vote are disingenuous and quickly dismissed. Calling Americans names probably does worse for them, totally backfires.

Yelling does nothing. Contributing to help change things by working with others makes us stronger. We have the right to gripe but not without offering our solutions and help.

I live in the UK and I would have voted for Bush if I was American (in both 2000 and 2004).
Kerry seemed to be a sanctimonious git like Blair. I agree that Bush can appear - and I emphasise *appear* - less than brilliant, however I think he's probably a lot brighter than he appears.
Why would I have voted for Bush? Well in the first place, if I was American I'd be a Republican not a Democrat. In this country I always vote Conservative. That tends to be on basic principles (smaller government, lower taxes) rather than specific policies. This would put me in the Republicans in America. Secondly I think he's a family man with Christian principles which I respect.
Yes he's not perfect (e.g. response to New Orleans disaster was slow and inadequate). But then what politician is perfect?

I voted for him and I am glad I did! I would do it again also.

I know this really doesn't matter but:
He wasn't slapping on fake tan while our country was in a war! lol

I voted for him the second time to piss off all the annoying Bush haters. And I can tell you right now, it was 100% worth it. I'd do it again if I had the chance.

I voted for him. In 2000 and in 2004.

And if you can be mildly retarted and get through Yale, complete USAF flight school for F-102 fighters, and get an MBA from Harvard, things are really looking up for the handicapped.

Because he was a lot better of a choice than what the other parties put up....and if you voted for the other candidates...your showing your lack of intelligence

Anyone who voted for Bush is retarded? I suppose this makes anyone who voted for Gore or Kerry intelligent. I voted twice for a winner and you voted twice for losers. Please explain to me how this makes me retarded.
By the way, my IQ has repeatedly been tested and I have always been in excess of 130 points. Perhaps if your IQ was in excess of 75 you would be able to express yourself without resorting to insults.

Because he stands for values they cherish. Now don't get me wrong thinking I idolize they guy, because he has made a plethora of mistakes, as well as his administration. I can only really think of one president that hasn't made significant mistates - George Washington. If we had him coming up for election - I'd vote for him or any of the founding fathers for that matter.

My economic situation is great, my quality of life has never been better, and I don't really care what happens to the terrorists at Gitmo or the people of Iraq.
