Not really. With regard to cucumber I actually put my pots on a bench in the greenhouse and let them hang down. They were supported by the bench and did far better than last year when I tried to grow them up something. The problem is the cucumbers become so heavy that to grow them up something can often snap the stalks.
With regard to zuccini. This year I planted them outside along the side of 5 foot high nets. They prefered to grow along the floor than to try and grow up the nets even with support. So the nets were a complete waste of time and money.
Good luck.

No not necessarily..zucini I keep on the ground..but I mulch with straw underneath to keep from rotting..Cucumbers I do grow on A trellis though to save room..they will vine out extremely large and take alot of ground space up..so I use trellises..I also grow my cantaloupes on A trellis... when the fruits begin to form I tie torn bed sheets underneath each fruit like a cradle..and rest the fruit in them and they grow fine and will not drop off..

No it's not necessary. However you save a LOT of garden space and no back breaking bending over. It's so nice to just reach over instead of bend over.
I make my own and roll it up every year after season, the size below is a good size for not growing the bounty in small openings. You can make a sturdy one with wood though.

regrettably, greens want a sunny spot to advance. in the adventure that your back backyard is shaded, you will not have a lot luck there. If there's a sunny section interior the front backyard the place a backyard does not look unusual (or annoy the associates by utilising its visual charm or violate any interior of reach landscaping ordinances), you're able to desire to construct an undemanding raised mattress with panorama timbers or rocks and soil and shop the canines out of that section. The canines might stay on the backyard section somewhat than pass slowly in the process the vegetation regardless of if the mattress wasn't raised.

no, some varieties are "bush" others are ground runners, just leave plenty of room between them when planting.
