Something called "conservation of angular momentum". The earth has always been rotating, and that means it is going to keep on rotating forever. This is one of those fundamental laws of physics (deriving from Newton's laws) that nobody believes can ever be broken. However, the Earth's rotation can change slightly over time due to the tidal interactions with the Moon and Sun. To stop the Earth's rotation would require an enormous amount of energy, and whatever did it would probably have the same destructive power as the biggest asteroid that could ever possibly hit us. In other words, life would be destroyed. Not to mention that if the Earth under our feet quit moving, we would continue along at our current 17 miles/minute or 1000 miles/hour - can you imagine suddenly being launched out of your chair at 1000 miles/hour?

Not only the world, every planetary object keeps rotating and spinning ever since it was born and thrown out away from its parent star.

Earth is loosing its spin very very minutely.

As others had said, it keeps spinning due to the lack of frictional factors.

It formed rotating, and an object once in motion tends to remain in motion unless acted upon by an external force. The tidal forces on earth due to the moon and sun that tend to slow it down are weak, and have not had time to substantially slow it yet.

When it was formed it was spinning due to the energy of the creation of the solar system. It continiues as there is nothing to slow it down. as space is frictionless.

Having siad that, the spin is slowing down every so slightly due to the inertia of the liquid core. Atomic clocks have to take the odd second off every few years are the spin slows down.

Money. Didn`t someone say or sing that money makes the world go round?

Actually, it is one of the effects of gravity. Overtime it will slow down as it already has.

It also lasts longer.
