I will be visiting my father for part of the day. We may have dinner at my sister's house, but since my oldest niece has returned from Iraq, and lives in another city, my sister may go there for xmas, as it will be my great nephew's 3rd visit from Santa. In other words, I'll play it by ear.

We used to have xmas at my parents house, but my mum passed away in '01, so my sister took over. Now that my niece has a son (my other two nieces do not have children), she may start having the family there. My sister would be happy for that, since we make everything from scratch (I say we, because I also cook if I get into town early enough...and I am the better of the cooks in my immediate family).

I hope everyone's holidays are warm and wonderful, regardless of faith, or lack of!

Christmas Day will be spent with my parents and my 2 brothers....and we have a good friend who was widowed about 18 months ago who will be joining us for most of the day, I think. My brothers and I still have Christmas stockings (even though my younger brother is almost 28 years old)....and in recent years, we have put together stockings for our parents, too. They will be opened first thing....and the presents under the tree are usually opened a little later. I am unsure of what or when our main meal of the day will be....but it will be good!

We have had to change things this year and instead of family popping to us we will be going to see them and then come home shut the door and eat drink watch television or dvd's and sleep.
I also want to go and put flowers at the garden of memory for daughter so she has a present christmas day.

Home alone - one of the penalties of a marriage break-up.
Amongst other things I really miss filming the children opening their prezzies and capturing their wonder and excitement in a family environment - as I always did before the split.
I am not on the pity pot I am just telling it as it is for me..
