Generally prenatal vitamins (which I presume it what you meant) are slow release, so they take quite a while to give out all the vitamins so your body gets a steady stream throughout the day. Some is stored in the body and some is flushed out. If you take prenatal vitamins regularly, your body will end up storing a little "vitamin buffer" which can help if there is a day or so when you do not consume enough "natural" vitamins (through your diet). Natural vitamins are always better than tablet form.

In many cases the amount of vitamins that are stored or retained depends on what you are consuming along with them. For your iron pills to give the most effect, they should be taken with a drink high in vitamin C (like orange juice) as this helps the absorption of the iron into the body. They should not be taken with a calcium rich drink on the other hand (like milk) as the calcium forms a coating around the iron and flushes it out without it being properly absorbed.

You should never "overdose" on any vitamins, if your prenatal vitamins already contain iron you should only take additional iron supplements on the advise of your doctor. The body doesn't "stop" taking up vitamin content when it "has had enough".

Iron is not anything to debris with. Talk for your surgeon and ask them how a lot of an iron complement you will have to take. Normal iron capsules offered over-the-counter are available in distinct concentrations and mostly any individual who demands iron might wish to regularly up their dose until they succeed in the extent prescribed via their surgeon to hinder disagreeable aspect results. Sure, its flawlessly exceptional to take prenatals earlier than you're pregnant, however if in case you have low iron its anything your surgeon will have to recognise approximately and be helping you with.
