It's hard to have a conversation about a lot of things with my family and friends. They just don't get me or have diferrent points of view. But when I talk to lesbians they totally understand and I can really relate to them. That's why I prefer talking to them.

Not everyone knows about my sexuality,so I can't really talk about my love life or stuff relating to lesbians to my family or friends.

Sometimes I really disagree with them, and sometimes I get pissed talking to them. They just don't get me! Like how my mom and friends say lesbians are just confused and hasn't found the right guy. I object!!! Totally disagree!!! Not just that but so many other stuff I really disagree with.

So,what I'm trying to say is,I feel that (not all but some) some people don't understand lesbians. Or is it that we have diferrent points of view.(yeah,I think that's it)

Or is it just me?

You do realise that we are all individual people, with individual personalities, don't you?

You talk about "lesbians" as if we are all exactly the same. Your attitude, while slightly more positive, is actually just as patronisingly wrong as that of your mother and friends.

I can only assume that you are very young, and don't actually know many lesbians.

In fairness though, it is not as idiotic as those people who think it is a choice.

When people have misunderstandings, it's all because there is no open minded on one side. I have that problem with my two sisters, and they admit to being close minded. You will find this in all human beings- not just with being gay. I do get along with my other four sisters. It's all about respecting views different from theirs. I hope this is not confusing.

okaaay..well your mom friends and what not just don't have open minds as once upon a time a white girl could actually fall in love with a black boy..unheard of unthinkable and ohh my goodness unbelivable..well the times are changing and more and more people are getting more open minded about things so maybe in time they wont' categorize what sexual relations should be in their point of view..and no its not just you there are many who see your view..

They are usually closed minded and will not look at another point of view. They do not know how you feel and are trying to rationalize it. I am sure that your lesbian friends are more open minded because of how they are treated by others.

I've never really understood lesbianism or those who choose to be gay, so can't really help you. You could be terribly confued too but if you aren't then stay comfortable wherever you wan to be.
