I have cleaned it with soap and water with a no scratch scrubby, but as soon as it dries you can see something still stuck on it and it wants to stick in same spot when i try to use it. This is/was a brand new electric skillet made by G.E. My hubby decided to do some cooking with it when I wasn't there!!! GRRRRR :( How can I REALLY get this stuff off without damaging the non-stick surface? I'm pretty sure surface is ok underneath because if i scratch pretty hard with my fingernail, it leaves a line in the residue. Thanks ahead of time ...proxy

And for all you jokers out there....."keeping hubby out of the kitchen" wont help me now cuz the damage has already been done. for whatever its worth ...I HAVE threatened him with bodily harm and "cutting him off" if he EVER messes with it again!!! Laterzzzz proxy

Let it soak in hot water. It's supposed to come off.
Carbon won't come off, you will have to carefully scrape it off. I don't know other way.

Simmer water in it for a few minutes-should fall out after.
