NO!

Yahoo keeps track for themselves.

The government harvests all available data for itself. Answers, is public, and available data.

It is more convenient for the government to harvest its own data, than to have yahoo give it to them. harvesting text is simple, and gigs of text can be harvested in seconds. Saying that, Yahoo Answers can be recorded to storage by our US government once each evening in a matter of seconds.

Also, since the us government controls domains, every web address you enter must go to the us government computers, and lookup the IP address of the server, so that you can connect to it. When that site you go to, has a ip that changes, it is updates in the federal governments computers, so you can always access it from its URL. The UN has recently been trying to takeover power of this, because us government controls the WORLDS domain to ip address translations.

Eschelon is a data harvesting system that can get thousands of gigs of data per minute and hunt for any of hundreds of keywords and smart topics. Also picture and audio and other file recognition algos.

*While answers is a q & a, almost a blog of sorts, a place to help & to learn, it is less invasive than something like Myspace where many report in daily of their happenings (something which I would never do or condone).

Yea, this sucks. But the Internet is a privilege and not a right. While we have the right to privacy, the Internet was provided to us by the federal government, so it is a privilege and they can basically do what they wish.

I am just happy it is still under US control.

I think they're keeping track but I don't know if the yahoo owners and operators necessarily know about it. I think in tweenty years from now it will come out how much the US government actually does spy on its citizens. I do care. I want freedom without having to run anti-government spy ware.

The government wouldn't need Yahoo's help in doing that. But they've got better things to do anyway.

As YA is international there are a lot of governments to choose from. Anyway, what do I care.

bro, it's possible. sadly, it's possible. gotta catch them terrorists! the neocon approach to catching them terrorists is by treating anybody who questions them as "unamerican" and by having the mindset of "you're either with us or against us." same mentality as Nazi Germany. the way this administration has gone behind our backs using the NSA to get into our (American citizens') phone records is despicable at best. i see no reason why they wouldn't or are already doing so with yahoo and our emails. peace bro

Of course they are whether they know it or not. The Government wants all the info they can get. But it don't really matter much to me.

frankly to me, i dont care if they are keeping track and sending it to the president. if they want me to, i will send it to the desk of the president myself telling him how much i think he screwed the country up and has caused thousands of deaths from our own soldiers. he has caused the economy to spiral out of control and has lost so much money. he is by far the WORST president that I have seen in office from the time I was born. so here Yahoo.... show that to supposed "leader of our country"
