Not really. I'm the kind of person that I only have family, and a few close friends. Once I'm married, I'll be busy raising kids, and raising them right, giving them lots of love, will take up a lot of my time, because that will be my duty. If you can be friends with your family, I don't see a problem.

Life doesn't give you room for a wife, children and a large social life. When you attempt too much, all of the relationships (family and friends) don't work too well.
Family is everything, and time makes family. We love our life. We keep up with a couple of friends, but they are family people too so the time spent in those relationships is not great, and the things we do together are always kid-friendly.
Family life doesn't work out for everyone, but without the serious time input and without outside friendships taking a back seat it has no chance.

Having friends is healthy. if just family and spouse, then that is a good start. the wider the base of friendships, the more stabilizing the effect. varied and multiple connections provide an allied front to draw strength and support from.

Yes, people need to take a break from the family from time to time... and it's not harmful for a person to have friends to do things with from time to time.
I think there is a limit, and that BOTH partners should have outside interests and friends... not just one of them.

Yes!! We all need a friend or acquaintance that we can talk to, laugh with, etc. other than our spouse or a family member. It's okay to have friends when you are married!!!

Why? What if you have a great relationship with your husband and children and have no desire to spread yourself thinner? For me, I'd go bonkers without my mom and my best friend, but other than those two, I'd be perfectly happy with no others. I'm sure there are those women who have no need of others outside their immediate family.
