"Be Yourself" My sister and mother have been great influences in my life. They have told me to be myself for what I am and who I am. If I don't fit in with others, then I can try to make my own plans. You don't have to impress people by changing who you are because that's just when everything crashes and falls.

The most influential advice that i ever followed was to just let things flow and let nature take its course.sometimes it is a bit hard but it helps alot, because everything does happen for a reason, the quicker you accept that the easyer things become. The better you enjoy life and concentrate on the things that matter the most.

I was told once by a wise man that in order for a relationship to work one person needs to be a kite and the other a rock. The kite will teach the rock how to fly and be free. The rock will teach the kite how to be grounded and committed. This means that it is okay to have two different personalities in a relationship as long as you respect eachother and learn from one another and most importantly you are able to compromise with eachother. The wise man was my Grandpa. He was happily married for 65 years. Unfortunatley he and my grandmother are both gone now. But because of his advice I have a healthy , happy, loving marriage that has been going strong for 15 years now.

My dad told me that one of the most important things in life is treating others with kindness and respect, even if I don't think they deserve it. This was really hard for me to do when I was younger---if someone did me wrong, the sun didn't go down before I got even. Now, I stop and think about why that person acted that way. Often, he/she deserves my understanding, not my resentment.

More of a song, but still has an advice.
From Monty Python's Life of Brian.
"Always Look on the Bright side of life" title of the song and a line from it.

Why?: i think it speaks for itself.
Read the lyrics if you're wondering:

There was this man who was called Jesus. He also called himself the son of God, and also God himself. His message was one of loving others, but first of all learning to love yourself before you can ever learn to love others..
