I live in L.A., California, and it seems like everyone is a Lakers fan. Yet, most Lakers "fans" don't even know the starting lineup! It seems like just because people live in L.A. they automatically consider themselves a Lakers fan, and I find that stupid when they have absolutely no knowledge about them. I myself am a Clippers fan, I have been since I was in 5th grade during the Darius Miles days, and I probably know more about the Lakers then 70 percent of those "Lakers" fans out there. Seriously I've complained about GS having the most bandwagon fans, but now I think the Lakers have and always will have the biggest bandwagon fan base.

Also most Lakers fans think their the crap because there a Lakers fan, when they have no idea wat the definition of a loyal fan is. Once the Lakers start sucking, they just move to another fan base and hop back on once they start doing goood again. 70 percent bandwagon fans = Lakers fans.

That was a very respectable response Nickster, no offense, but most Lakers fans give me he stupidest comments ever. I think yours was one of the best responses yet.

ok dude, i understand where you are coming from. Its like that with any other sport, like a lot of patriot, celtics, and even red sox fans. You cannot just come up with a complaint, not even a questions criticizing most laker fans. I was born and raised a lakers fan, i have season tickets, and shoot i even made my own lakers blog. You have to understand that there are going to bandwagoners everywhere, and your just going to have to deal with it. I could even criticize you about being a clippers fan, and why haven't you been with them even BEFORE the darius miles, qrichardson, olawakandi, dooling era. Just know that there are people out there who are die hard fans. There are also a lot of clipper bandwagoner fans, when they made a run during the 05-06 playoffs. Dude, and i'm telling you respectively, just don't giveashit. Let people do what they want.

Well there is a difference between die hard fans and regular fans a die hard fan watches many games as tries to go to as many as possible, reads about, stays updated, it affects their life. A regular fan will watch a game here and there go to one once every few years, so they don't stay to updated about the starting lineups, if you have no knowledge you will be a fan of a team you have most knowledge and that's most likely the fans local team. and they just represent the team because the team is from where there from, and naturally they will choose the Lakers because of the teams history. Lakers are known to be La's team. Not Clippers, that's just the way it is. With all the Lakers/Kobe haters the Lakers aren't a bandwagon team. The Celtics have had allot of loyal fans throughout the years but have picked up many bandwagon fans this year because of there success and the trade
PS. I am with no doubt one of the 30 percent of the Laker fans that you don't know more about the lakers than.

Hey Daniel K,
i'm not sure where you get your data from but a lot of the Lakers fans who i see at the games are very knowledgeable. Laker fans are loyal-- they are still selling out games right???
Yes there are a lot of people who are fans but don't really know basketball. And then there are fans that really know their stuff. i give you props for staying with Clippers since the Darius Miles days- because they've had a lot of miserable seasons (including the current one).
i've been a Laker fan since the late '70s so i've been through ups and downs and over the years i've met a lot of very knowledgeable fans- so not sure who you are rubbing elbows with.
i think actually the Clippers have more bandwagon fans then the Lakers. As a Laker fan- i've always hated the Clippers --- i like their players but they should move back to San Diego where they are originally from and then i might give them some respect-i wish they'd get out of Staples and get their own building...
The team with the most wins in the history of the NBA- the Lakers!!!

Lakers have so many bandwagon fans because of all of the success they've had in past years. I remember a few years ago when the Lakers were competing for championships, every car had a Laker flag on their window. Teams with a pedigree of success have bandwagon fans, that's just how things are.
Anyway, the Clippers had a bunch of bandwagon fans when they made that playoff run 2 years ago. Then people started joining the "Clipper Nation," until their recent decline.

do you ought to be from SoCal to love the lakers? i've got been a fan with the aid of fact the late 60's /early 70,s, have I wasted all those years on a SoCal team? the infantrymen sucked (nonetheless do) and the Kings have been in Kansas city so I jumped on the Lakers band wagon 40 years in the past! grow to be that incorrect? i presumed merely being from California grow to be solid adequate. I by no skill had to stay in the Haze and Smaze of l. a.. I stay the place you certainly breath Air.

well u have to take into consideration that LA is not just a basketball city. Its freaking LA, we have alot of things to do and to watch around here. Plus, our city is HUGE
i agree there are alot of casual fans in LA, but its like that in a metropolis like New York as well.
its just the fan base u see from other states. like lets say, UTAH are NOT bandwagon... why??? cuz they have nothing else to do there except be mormons and herd cows. thats the difference, LA is a metropolis, its just not about basketball here

This is the reason why they should convert to hockey fans. Ask a Ducks or a Kings fan about their team and they will talk endlessly and thoughtfully about both the team and the sport...
