I love ants! When I was a kid I loved watching them line up and move things back to who knows where; the line never seemed to end. They came in all sizes, some with really big butts (abdomen) and others were red with black abdomen or some even had wings. But they're annoying if they get all over my food, or if they're "killer ants" like the Siafu in Africa. They're still amazing creatures though, can never learn enough from them.

IDK if they feel pain.. but I'm guessing yeah b/c they r quite complicated creatures. Ants even have a socialist society.. kinda. I DO NOT kill ants b/c I c them as our "grounds keepers." Next time u c an ant walk by, give it a piece of cake and watch it. It will go back to it's colony and the others will follow it's pheromones to the cake! It's really cool!!! Flies on the other hand, I either let them out the window or my cat kills 'em. I try to prevent them from breeding in my trash can by keeping it covered. I'm sure it would hurt if I were a grasshopper and some1 cut off my head. The only things that I kill in my home r things like cockroaches (which there r none right now) and wondering spiders (not the 1s in webs). My cat killed a fly 2day. I am against killing bees for no good reason. A good reason would b if there r wasps or yellow jackets on the porch of a person who is extremely allergic or kids and old ppl. They r actually dwindling in numbers b/c we kill so many of them simply out of fear! They will not just attack for no reason, but we tend to kill 'em 4 no reason. & yes, I do try to get these guys out my window safely, as well. I do prevent my cat from getting fleas and ear mites.. both of these r actually insects! XD ... and ticks- arachnids! Edit: Hmmm... as I once read in a book: The entomologist said that if ants were invading his kitchen and stealing his sugar, he'd just watch his step. LMAO!

They're certainly a LOT of them. They are very caring, as they first to go to ant egg, and carry it away to protect it. Ant is social animal. It is the way it is.

Ants have no sense of pain, try squishing one, even with their legs all mangled up and body squished, they are still trying their best to untangle themselves and go about their usual routine! Just put yourself in its place, our body would go into unconsciousness just so that we do not feel the utter pain

I personally don't care for them because they bite and will shut down an air conditioner if they get into it. But on the other hand the Bible uses them as an example of having a good work ethic

Very busy little critters. They can be a nuisance inside the house. But, I have to respect how they all work together, for the common good.

Yuck. I hate insects. But, they don't look half as scary as some of the bugs out there.

i like them. they have fascinating social structures. I think it would be cool to refer to colonies as tribes instead of colonies.
