a 3 month old should only be feeding every 4-6 hours now anyway so if he is sleeping, let him be!!!

The first and biggest rule of parenting is, "never wake a sleeping baby!!!!"
This is especially true at night time, so if he is sleeping soundly and not waking, he is not hungry. He will let you know when he wants his next feed, trust me!

best of luck and congrats on the bubs

I have heard that if you wake a baby to eat every three hours...they will continue to wake every three hours even when they no longer need to.

Anyway, there are several philosophies on this. I personally don't wake them at night at all. During a nap in the day I didn't let him go more than 4 hours without a bottle and would wake him for that one. (At that age) I feed on demand if he gets hungry but also feed on a schedule not letting him go past a certain length of time between feedings. THIS IS WHAT WORKS FOR ME!! Can't emphasize this enough...do what is right for you. At 3 months my baby was sleeping from 10-12 until 5-6 the next morning. A total of about 7 hours. He gained weight just fine and is in the 80%...he was a fairly small baby so it was growth rate. The missed feeding in the middle of the night did no harm!

Don't wake him up! You will get him into the habit of waking every three hours regardless of whether he is hungry, and it's a tough habit to break. When he needs to be fed, he will wake up. My baby slept through the night at 8 weeks old, she was hungry when she woke up but absolutely fine.

I'm assuming he doesn't have a medical problem which means it's necessary for him to be fed frequently...but I'm sure you wouldn't even be asking if this was the case.

Edit: I mean at night, I wouldn't leave a baby to sleep longer than 2 hours at a stretch during the day. It's a good idea to get your baby used to day and night being different. Day being for short naps and night for longer periods of sleep is a good way to start.

I did that at first but after the first month and a half I was like hey , hell let me know when he is hungry . After that he has slept through the night and has since then . He is 6 months old now and sleeps from about 8:00 pm to 6:00 am .

I would NOT wake the baby up, they need there sleep. Sometimes they will sleep longer even though it has been longer than usual, and other times they will wake up after only sleeping a short amount of time. You can feed your baby as soon as they wake up and noooooooooo harm will be done believe me. Babies need to sleep just as much as they need to eat so they can function because believe me there will b times where the baby will not sleep for a long time lol and you will wish that they would take a nap. If the baby was starving they would wake up anyway, so if they sleep a little longer let them.

when i wake up in the middle of the night & the baby is asleep i turn him on his other side & offer the bottle to his mouth. if he takes it, it means we can all go back to sleep for 2-3 more hours. if he doesn't, well i expect he'll wake us all up within the half hour

Some parents believe in the "your baby will wake up when he's ready to eat.... just let him sleep." and other mom's have a strict feeding schedule.

Do what's right for you and your baby.

I would let them sleep - but do what you feel right in doing. I have always fed on demand (breastfed) with both my child and my son now 3 is perfectly fine and My daughter is due to start solids soon.

I think if your baby was younger, then I would say, wake him up, but at 3 months, if he wants to sleep longer, I would let him sleep. :)
