I can't seem to make a connection in the corporate world. I've been in between jobs for several months, and there is always an issue with me. I've gone on tons of interviews, and be snubbed at every one of them. It seems like I sound great on the phone, but once they meet me it's a different story. I might lose this job that I'm at right now because I'm not producing enough. There is always an issue with me. I'm smart, kind, technically inclined, and want to make money. My brother and sister have moved on in their careers and are very well off. I on the other hand keep struggling to make ends meet. I want to be in IT, but I can't afford school right now, and most jobs want someone who has a degree. I feel trapped, and confused.

I used to be a headhunter, did so for five years. And I posted this here because it seems like this section gets all the action. And yes I'm a *****, but I have alot to contribute and in doing so I expect to be treated accordingly. Thank you.

1. Head hunters is the way to find your job if you keep going on interviews with no success.
2. Find a job or get one that may not be the greatest but allows you time in the evening or whenever to attend school
3. There are so many online schools right now that there is no excuse for not getting in a couple of classes. It may be one at a time but do it. In my state (Georgia) there is the Hope Scholarship for adults if you have been out of school for a while. It will pay for you to attend classes while you work and you can take these online. It covers you as long as the courses you are taking gets you certification in something. This would include Microsoft and Cisco or accounting or supply management or most any occupation that has a certificate involved. Check your state for such a program. They are everywhere. Good luck.

You may not be able to afford school but find some inexpensive training courses. See if you can find someone willing to each you things about the IT world, and pay them a hourly rate. Buy some books or do online tutorials and teach yourself some things. You sound like a bright person who WANTS to make something out of themselves. I just say keep your head up, pray to the Lord and keep your faith. Surround yourself with positive people who support and motivate you to do your best. Don't look at other peoples accomplishments. What they did is different than what you can do and vice versa. Everybody should has a purpose in life. Good luck to you!

You aren't producing enough. That's your answer.
Try to increase your production.

Smart, kind, technical, does nothing for an employer if you don't produce results. Most places will point out to you directly what you need to do to succeed. Do some of those things.

I am not sure what sort of job you have, but if you meet deadlines and do good work, then you will not get fired, excluding corporate wide layoff decisions.

You only trap yourself, if something isn't working try something else until you find what you are looking for. Get financial aide for school.
