I'm sorry I've answered this question so many times that I'm just going to copy and paste my answer from a similar question, hope it answers your question:

He didn't have surgery, it's a skin condition. It's called vitiligo and it attacks the melanocites (the pigment producing cells in our bodies.) At first he covered the white patches on his skin with dark makeup, but as the disease progressed the white patches became more abundant and so he uses light makeup to cover the dark patches now. He doesn't go anywhere without makeup. Did you ever wonder why he wore one glove? It was because the first signs of vitiligo showed up on his hands and so he concelled it with gloves.

The only person that can answer this is Michael Jackson, and he says that he has the skin disease Vitaligo. In an interview, his makeup artist said that at first they tried to cover up his white spots with black/brown makeup, but as time went on it was easier to cover the black spots with white makeup.

I do believe Michael Jackson when he says he has this disease.

The plastic surgery has nothing to do with his color.

He does have a skin disease, which bleaches out all the pigment in the skin--that much is accurate. Once a person gets this there's nothing that'll stop it.

But his nose and cheeks, and other things--that's all been done by doctors.

Really, I think its anyone's best guess. The skin condition that some people think he suffers from is vitiligo, which prevents correct pigmentation on the skin, resulting in a whitish (almost albino) appearance.

I watched an Oprah interview with Michael Jackson and he stated that he does have a rare disorder which has caused him to lose the pigmentation or skin color.

Michael Jackson is white because he has a skin disease I have studied it in school and it is when you loose your pigment in your skin which in his case made his skin loose colour and turn him white.
