Simply Balance the scale.
8-12z=92
-12z = 92-8 Getting the variable alone is the first step
-12z = 84 Combining the like terms (92) and (8)
z = 84/-12 Getting z all by itself by dividing both sides
z = -7 and lastly the final product of 84/-12

All you have to do is use algebra. To get rid of the 8 you have to subtract it, since you subtract it on one side of the equation you have to do the same on the other side. 92 minus 8. This will give you -12z=84 this just leaves the -12 to get rid of, since -12z is just "-12 times z" all you have to do is divide -12. 84 divided by -12 is -7. This leaves you with z=-7... Your Answer!!! :D

first subtract 8 from each side:
-12z=83
Next divide each side by 12
-z= 7
Then divide each side by -1 (to get rid of the negative in front of the coefficient)
z=7
