This is what i heard

"In september they started inserting a chip iin the console called the falcon chip that eliminates it"

Is this all true?

And another question , if you go buy an xbox360 at Walmart, Frys Electronics, Target, etc... does it come with the "FREE" 3 year warrenty?

It's not inserting a new chip in the console. Falcon is the name they gave to a redesigned processor they are now using in the 360. They have also reworked the heat sinks. Between the two, it should help reduce the overheating problems that have been the major cause of the red rings of death (RROD). However, because they have been on the market such a short time, there is no really good way to gague how well the changes will prevent the RROD.

As to the waranty, MS has extended the warranty on all 360s (not just new ones) to 3 years for ONLY the RROD. Anything else with the 360 is only covered for 1 year.

The Falcon chip was supposed to eliminate the red ring of death problem, but instead, it reduced the chance of it happening. and for the second question, only if the console was made after july 5, 2007 then there is a free 3 year warranty from microsoft which they will fix any problems that you are experiencing with your xbox 360 and they would pay for any charges, like shipping fees and such.
