I currently live in Clairemont (off of Balboa) and attend school in Old Town. I'm only an average player so I'm not looking to play anywhere that is super competitive. Mostly just looking for a court to shoot around at.

The Pacific Beach Receration Center always has people playing on their two courts.
Try the UCSD basketball courts along Torrey Pines Drive in Revelle College. Lots of courts to shoot around at and it doesn't seem as competitive there either.
Aside from those two locations I would check local high schools and their courts.

Since you live in Clairemont just go down the hill at the end of Clairemont Drive and shoot at the Visitor Information Center alongside of Mission Bay.
