I was referred to a urologist by my doctor and eventually the urologist recomended circumcision. After telling me the risks, bleeding, swelling, 2 months to fully recover, we went ahead and scheduled the procedure.

He prescribes some pain medecine after surgery and i'm off. I go to fill my pain medecine, but he puts his name instead of mine under patient, and i go to three different pharmacies, and no one fill the prescription. (narcotic and they won't budge) I get a lesser pain medecine after arguing

follow-up visit was supposed to be 2 weeks after surgery, they scheduled me for a month after the procedure even though i insisted in 2 weeks. So he checks me in a month and said everything is looking fine, even though i tell him i have no sensation. 3months now and still swollen and no sensation, he tells me to wait it out another month, and if nothing, we'll talk about another procedure.

What should i do. I'm in pain, and have to still wait even though he said 2 months.

The loss of sensation is normal. That is the goal of "circumcision", if done correctly it leaves the male barely able to function sexually. Yes he can erect and ejaculate but he will have only about 25% of the feeling of a man with a complete penis. Also intercourse for a complete man will last on the average 6 minutes longer. Everybody gets "cut short" on this deal, in more ways than one.

But still swollen and painful after three months? Did he use fire ants to chew off your foreskin? In one more month you will discuss another procedure? If it was me I would have already done "another procedure" ...to him.

You should know that a doctor that does "circumcisions" is a greedy quack; they cut because they don't have the knowledge or ability to practice proper medicine and they are more interested in profit than patent health. Some body has to make the payments on that new Porch.

Also infant "circumcision" has the same effect on sensitivity as adult, he just will never know what he is missing. This is why doctors prefer to do it to babies, they can’t complain and hire a lawyer, or haul off and hit the mutilating quack.

First try to find a competent doctor and get this remedied before any more damage is done. (keep all documentation) Then find a lawyer that handles malpractice, they can make the best determination if you have a case.

I hope you can sue half HIS d!cl< off!

Circumcision in adult males can lead to a decrease in sensation because the nerves in the foreskin are fully developed.

However, as I'm not sure what your original condition was that warranted a circumcision, it'd be difficult to say whether the process was medically necessary or whether the swelling/loss of sensation were related to the original problem or a complication of the surgery.

As far as the error on the script, mistakes happen. You should have returned to the prescribing physician that day and had it corrected. After hours, the doctor's answering service could forward your message to the doctor. Depending on the DEA schedule of the drug, a simple phone call & fax of a corrected script would be sufficient to get you your meds.

Should have had a second opinion before going through the procedure. It's a little late now.

I would be interested to know why a Doctor would recommend an adult male be circumcised, I have never heard such a thing?

At this point, I would do what should have been done before hand, get a second opinion!

No one seems to tell men the extreme effect any surgery has on their "equipment". My male friend had a vasectomy nearly a year ago. From all we knew "snip snip" use an ice bag to help the swelling and a few days recovery. Maybe some residual swelling for a few weeks....The first part is about how it went but nobody tells you that your balls ache quite often for no apparent reason, driving for long periods of time make them ache, and if you don't wear "supportive" underwear, even when sleeping they will start to ache. I don't have a clue what his Doctor told him about this but in chatting with other family members who have had this procedure preformed or their wives, this is "normal"......Now why would anyone agree to have such a procedure if it is going to make you that "uncomfortable" for the rest of your life?... Had I known before hand, I would have told him NO!! And now that I am thinking about it, he did not have a urination issue, for which he now has to take daily medication, before he had this procedure.....hmmmm

A second opinion and a copy of your medical records from your first doctor (you're entitled to them, just ask).

I'd have gone immediately from the pharmacist to the doctor's office to have him correct the prescription that day actually, to avoid problems.

You did have major surgery, so it'll take a while to heal. But three months is a long time. Schedule an appointment with another doctor and give him your records, see what he says. You should at least be pain free by now.

well first place you have to prove that he has done something wrong and has actually caused you damage. Im sure you can call the doctors office after hours and get the doctor on call to fix the pain medication. as far as a follow up procedure i am sure you should get a 2 nd opinion before having surgery that you are concerned with. I wouldnt do anything that you dont feel comfortable doing.

countless med mal cases settle with confidentiality agreements. how are you going to hit upon those? You look "statistically challenged..." as in no longer understanding something approximately valid statistical comparisons. i'm specific there are a lot of abortion-proper subject concerns you could write approximately that don't contain statistical stupidity. advice: Write approximately "The stressful circumstances to find the advice required to construct a valid statistical assessment of scientific malpractice cases." Step # one million: study statistical assessment. situation solved!

I hate to say it, but this is what happens when you mess with what God gave you. Circumcision is NOT without risks, even though many of its proponents would love to make you believe that's the case.

I hope you can find another doctor. What about an emergency room visit?

First find yourself another Dr. and make sure you are OK. You may have to go to another city to find one who will tell you the truth if the first one really did something wrong. then find yourself a personal injury lawyer and be prepared for a long wait before the case is resolved.
