I am not kidding. Do young girls just wear them so they do not feel left out by their friends who developed first?

Not like I am obsessing on it

I am many years past the training bra stage, friends, just a random thought :)

Training bras are not a necessity in any way. Problem is, when you are starting to "bud", it shows through your clothes...society as a whole do not WANT to see that. It attracts too much attention on the male end! (Pervs, to!)
Physically it is not a necessity. It also gets the teen into the DRAG of wearing a nice tight harness for the rest of her life and starts the HUGE money output for femine needs....pity.

After 14 years of bras I still wear the training bras on occasion and for what? I have no idea! I don't believe they will ever be out of training!

It's fine to be proud of what you've got even if it's not enough to impress anyone ;) At some point girls have gym classes or summer camp or sleep overs where they may change/ shower in front of other girls. Bras have become like another form of underwear that girls should be wearing once girls their age start wearing them.

It is very proper and positive to help young girls develop good hygeine habits. I don't know if you have kids like this at school, but growing up I knew some to where they didn't get a bra and they got picked on horribly when they began to develop. Some girls wear little undershirts instead. The point is to develop good habits of wearing undergarments because it's simply good hygiene.

That is one reason, the other is to get used to wearing a bra. Breast need support and if you start wearing a training bra than you will be used to it when you really need one.

It is a right of passage for a young girl that is much more pleasant than her first period!

No, to answer your question. For those young ladies who are "sprouting" a training bra is good to have. There are girls who feel the need to wear them due their age not because they want to fit in with their friends. I mean who cares if you are wearing one????

I think they were designed so that the young ladies who are starting to develop can get use to wearing a bra.

I don't know about you but my breasts got so sore I could not stand for the material from my clothes to touch them. My Aunt bought me a training bra and the pain got better. They were raw and sore and hurt so bad. That is why I got my daughter one and insisted my granddaughter have one, not to mention my first one, as well as my granddaughter's was not the usual flat training bra. I was too big for the flat one.

They should really be called a first bra, or learning bra. Young girls usually wear them because they start to become body-conscious and slightly embarrassed [ happened to my daughter ]. Don't make fun of pubescent body-image probs., they can be harmfull.
