My brother believes that there are other galaxy's, although I think that the huble telescope just discovered a few nebula's. How can they tell if its a galaxy or just a nebula? And are there even any other galaxies and what are they named?

Yes, there are estimated to be around 100 billion in the visible universe, and hundreds of thousands of them have been cataloged. Very few of them have proper names (http://seds.org/messier/xtra/supp/rasc-g-n.html ) most of them only have catalog numbers. Edwin Hubble proved that the Andromeda galaxy was another galaxy like the Milky Way back in the 1920s when he was able to estimate its distance.

Uncountable. The latest estimate says there are perhaps several hundred billion. Many thousand have already been classified in the Messier catalogue of celestial objects. A few have proper names but most are just numbered. Andromeda is one of the best known, which is also known as M31. Ours is known as the Milky Way. Perhaps you meant to ask "are there any other known Universes. Now that is a hard question. We only know of our own, but mathematical theorists speculate that there may be infinite universes. Mind boggling.

Look at the "Hubble Deep Field" images for thousands of galaxies in a TINY piece of otherwise "empty" sky.

Andromeda Galaxy is visible to the unaided eye in a dark sky. We have been able to image individual stars in nearby galaxies.
