Then when a man cries and acts emotional, the woman runs away as fast as she can and whines "where are the real men?"

So, men are supposed to understand women's emotions, but crying makes them emotional little b*****s? Men are just being emasculated in America, it seems.

Because real men don't cry.
They face advertisity in a crisis. They are strong like a rock of gibraltor.
What woman mean by saying emotional - be compassionate, understanding, loving, caring and be sensitive but not weak, low esteemed.

They want men to be a beam of a harbor light in a dark stormy night for a ship in the vast ocean.

Hey -I am not a woman. But I think - operative word here is 'think' - I understand women.

We generally want you to be about 10 degrees less emotional then we are. That includes holding hands, actually listening to us during conversations, holding us when lounging on the couch, cooking us dinner every once in a while, telling us how you really feel minus all the macho bullcrap, and so on... What we don't want is for you to cry like a Mama's boy and exhibit behavior that might suggest we would have to protect YOU in the face of danger. Yup, there you go.

Well, i'm the type who prefer emotional guys and i do not go around screaming for help if he cries.. In fact, i get touched.. unless he starts crying non-stop then that's a lil freaky..
But, overall, it's nice to have a guy that is emotional and expresses his feelings with the one he loves..

Just be who u r and let her like u for who u r.. =)

Who runs away and says that? No, we want a guy that has feelings, not a whimpering pile of emotion. A real man has feelings, expresses them appropriately and allows others to do the same. He cares for others, is considerate and kind. Now, that's a great man. Hmmm, where do I find one of those, any clue?

Women don't want men to be more emotional. We want men to stop hiding the emotions they DO have. That's a big difference.

I think it is because "emotional" is a broad description, and you're thinking of a different idea.

I think what women mean to say, is they wish men used their emotions more to make decisions. Men usually react to a lot of things (dealing with women) in a purely biological way. Men want women who are young, have big breasts, wide thighs and a big butt because biologically, these are signs for fertility and thus, good mates. They also tend to cheat more than women, because for men, it is better to sleep with as many women as possible to assure they have lots of kids and pass down their genes.

While women are nurturing: it is more beneficial for their genes to raise their babies (since women can only get pregnant once at a time, it is useless to sleep around with many men). A lot of what women want is cultural too, we look for rich, older men that tend to be "settled down" (mature, less likely to cheat) and have the money and resources to raise our children. Women also want "strong" men, to help protect our families (biological idea), not overly-sensitive men that show a need to be nurtured (women already have to nurture their kids, they don't need another one).

We see this difference, and it is sometimes frustrating that we seem to behave based on "emotions," family values, and cultural issues, opposed to men who sometimes only behave in accordance with their biological drives. Women get frustrated that men can't control these drives more, as they are many times detrimental to our societies’ ideas of a good family.

No one wants someone who is overly sensitive and cries all the time. I can’t deal with that sh*t. (It's okay if they cry occasionally, of course.) But we don't want selfish jerks, either. A middle-point would be nice.

Because they're women. It's always been that way and always will be that way. How is a guy supposed to understand a creature that can bleed for a week straight and not die. It ain't happenin'..... Just be yourself and learn the phrase "I'm sorry Babe", that'll take care of 80% of the bumps in the road.

They mean emotional as in show their feelings and be sensitive, not crying and whining. Also, I'm guessing you are just talking about one specific woman, so maybe she is just a hypocrite.

We don't want a whiny-butt! We want men who are open to talking about emotions when it's necessary, men who express their emotions in a rational way when necessary, and men who can sense and be sensitive to our emotions when necessary. Being overly-emotional is a different story
