The relief valve on the boiler would open to let water out when the system heated up. Then when it cooled down, the system would be low on water and the boiler would probably lock out on low water level. For more info, check out the hydronics page at my source.

your boiler would allow the relief vale to open and allow the expanded water to release i would recommend draining the system installing fitting to except an extrol tank that can be easily installed

Leaks. When you warm up water it expands.
