Same as my thoughts on teens driving a car. It's scary, but if the kid is mature enough in his mind then I'm ok with it. A lot of teens get their license and they think they can drive like Bo Duke or Mark Martin. Your birthday may say you can drive a car or ride a motorcycle, but your brain may not be ready for the task.

Sorry but I don't like it at all.
Kids are too precious to lose to the street.
Wait til you are at least 21 and have gone through the Motorcycle Riders Foundation and can ride defensively.
Some kids boast about riding dirt bikes all their life should stay in the fields and not on the street. The street is over populated with stupid people who say they never see the motorcycle when they hit it... This is a bunch of crap.. They turn left in front of us or cut us off...... Now a days motorcycle ridiers need to ride defensively all the time and faster just to get a way from the scarey drivers on the road.
No, it is not a fun place at rush hour and I don't think kids should take the chance... Don't give your parents the grief to worry... Wait til you are 21 or older.
A car at least has a barrier around your body where as a motorcycle has nothing.... And when you hit the ground and get road rash this means not only will the hospital wash it gently, they will scrub it with a stiff brush and it doesn't feel too good ... Not even on morphine...... Don't chance it.....

The average 16 year old will get killed on a bike, They are too damn fast and they show off bad enough in a car. You crash a bike kiss your a** goodbye.Back when the Vmax first came out the under18 riders lasted 2 weeks and crashed, usually a fatal one.

First i am 53. I started riding motorcycle at 16. If they are old enough to buy it themselves they should be able to learn to ride. Now a days we have become too averse to risk taking. Taking risks means those who survive will be much better able to handle the things life throws at you.

Teen or adult, It comes down to the same bottom line
Acting responsible and having the proper instruction on how to drive a motorcycle...The correct clothing and helmet. That is what it is all about... "Proper Awareness"....

It's fine, just remember to be careful. I had a good friend die in an accident because he didn't stop in time and slammed into the back of a truck. It's just safer to be in a car but just be extra careful on a bike.

I had 3 friends killed on bikes, just be careful sweetie, I would not want any of my children riding bikes, anyone I know in fact, it's soooo dangerous, even if you are very experienced, the other drivers are nuts.

No worries, I rode them since i was 16. I have co-worker who rides a cbr600. the age don't matter it's responsibility that counts. and i think it's cool to see a dude riding a wheelie at 80 mph as long as he isn't endangering anyone else.

Where I live.....teens can hardly drive cars, that's why the rules are so strict, so I seriously doubt if they should be allowed to ride motorcycles.
