every time I rock her, she rubs on my face, then falls asleep. I was just wondering if anyone might know why.

it is like security to them like a blanket or stuffed animal it just makes them relaxed my son does it to me all the time

Soothing and security. My son will not go to sleep unless he has a recieveing blanket. And he sucks his thumb and rubs the blanket on his face. He will cry until you give him a blanket.

It's what she does to calm herself into sleeping. Some kids suck their thumbs, she rubs your face. My son used to play with the skin on my elbow. Enjoy it now, she'll probably outgrow it as soon as she finds other ways to self soothe.

sounds like your baby knows she is safe and loved.My oldest wanted to be on my shoulder and play with the hair at the back of my neck and my younger son wanted to hold my little finger. Chairish the moment.

My 2 year old daughter still does that if I sleep with her, I guess its just a comforting thing for them.

aaaww that is so cute what mine does is plays with my nails it hurts because he likes to dig into them and flick them with his nail! lol but he has doen this since i can remember and he still does it and he is three years old... i guess it's just hteir way of feeling scure and comforted! enjoy while she keeps on doing it they grow so fast!
