claim it is the truth, and you have a religion. That's why we have so many different branches of Christianity all with the illusion that they are telling the truth.

The real problem is that people fall for those illusions. You can't do anything about it, because if you try to convince that fellow christian, he might not listen, thinking that his way is the right way.

Instead of blaming the greedy bastards that start a "new religion", think of the stupidity and how easy people fall to the fallacy.

That's what religion is all about! For as long as people has the ability "to believe" there will always be religion. Remove from their minds this ability and you will find a world where nobody will believe on anybody or anything. Perhaps you can imagine that there will be more chaos in the world.

In spite of the fact that a lot of people will die or kill because of their own religion, the world is still a better place to live in because of religion.

Strive to be happy! Take care.

Not quite. While I agree that religious truth is subjective, this analysis doesn't apply to why there are different denominations or sects in any of the major religions.

Actually denominations of christianity were formed through differences within the church which caused the split hence so many different denominations or as you called them branches.

That's because everyone believes what they say is true.
Religion is not just Christianity. What about the Jews, Hindues, Musslims ect...It's all religion, and everyone thinks theirs is correct. Just like I believe mine is. Jesus is my Saviour, but he probably isn't yours. Nothing will ever be solved when it comes to religion until Jesus comes back.

My 2 cents.
