I've recently posted a question asking if it's bad to add 35hp to a 2000 Crown Victoria by simply installing a program into the ECU. Seven out of eight people say nothing will go wrong with the engine, but I didn't specify that it will also add 35 more lb./ft of torque. That is why I'm asking this question.

I would not worry . You won't even get that. Read the fine print, you will probably find that you need to do other upgrades to achieve the maximum. like making the engine breath better. Air intake/high flow exhaust. Have fun

The additional horse power and torque will not be a problem. I do not know if the re-programming is accomplishing this in a way that is detrimental or not but the boost in power itself is no problem.

Doesn't matter either way unless the program is leaning out the A/F ratio to a ridiculous degree. It does not matter if you are getting more torque or horsepower, what matters is HOW you get it...
Besides, you can't really gain one without gaining the other...

Torque = (HP x 5252)/RPM
Horsepower (HP) = (Torque x RPM)/5252
