"Get Together" (Come on people now, smile on your brother) is usually associated with a group called the Youngbloods because their version was used on a television commercial in the early 1970s, but it was originally done by a band called The Sunshine Company back in the late 1960s. The chant "Nah nah nah nah...goodbye" which is often used at sporting events, was taken from a song by a band named Steam, also back in the late 1960s.

Don't Fear the Reaper by the Blue Oyster Cult. When people listen to that song, they recognize it. But you must admit...that band name is somewhat hard to recall. Look up "one hit wonders" on yahoo search and you can find a nice, long list of other songs like this.
